Feedback through turntable
Probably feedback, just do some good isolating on the turntable.Get rid of the low pass filter. Do not use it as it changes polarity and you loose micro-details, micro-dynamics, and imaging. Some woofer pumping will be present as a good preamp will...
Do I need a power conditioner?
Generally speaking having 2 dedicated circuits can cause more problems than it will solve. If the two dedicated circuits are connected to the two halves of the balanced AC line you have just created a gigantic antenna. You can save yourself a lot ...

Why Single-Ended?
Home audio, especially 2 channel systems with analog being the primary source will rarely benefit from balanced connections. Adding balanced operation in this scenario will only add more circuitry with no real benefit and likely have deleterious e...
Is it too bright or is it high resolution?
One must wonder if a "to bright"  presentation may be the result of harmonic distortion. Whether this is an amplifier issue a preamplifier issue or the interplay between the electronics and speakers. I am certain that we all want all of the detail...
Tube vs Solid State
I've heard some awesome things about the Bricasti M28 Mono Blocks paired specifically with large B&W loudspeakers.  No personal experience. As far as preamplifiers are concerned, in my not so humble opinion, there are only preamplifiers that s...
Have ~$10-12k...what would you do?
In my experience and observations, most preamplifiers are pretty bad sounding and many are noisy and/or have poor channel separation or other issues.  I am not singling out any particular preamps. I can with all confidence tell you that the best p...

Regarding Joseph Audio Pulsar Loudspeakers
"kalali" My pre-amplifier is a vintage Precision Fidelity C-4 Dual Cascode valve model that has been completely serviced. It has phono inputs that are very quiet with enormous gain. The mono blocks that I am planning to use are a pair of EKSC 11 p...
Regarding Joseph Audio Pulsar Loudspeakers
I am keeping an open mind with no pre-conceptions.  This speaker sub-set has exploded with some exceptionally well designed and great sounding products.Quite interestingly, I have read one review on the WB Vertex which left little doubt that it is...
Regarding Joseph Audio Pulsar Loudspeakers

Class "A" sound, as related to Stereophile.
Everyone should know that capacitors don't live forever. As long as the replacement is done correctly then you should be fine. Often de-soldering the old caps is the most difficult part of the job. I may have to disagree that newer "better" caps a...
Why is my turntable sounding so muddy?
Could be as simple as a dirty stylus. Obviously be very gentle, use a tight pile stylus brush with the tonearm free and not locked down. Apply no more pressure than the tracking force, back to front. Hope this helps.
