Equipment that has made you 'stop' looking?
Kublakhan, yes, the integrated amp & headphone section sounds great imo but my use (hd 580's) is very limited.
What's your latest "Discovery"
The "Duhks" self titled. A great canadian acoustic based group I just saw live at Suwannee Springfest. A nice blend of irish, bluegrass, soul & alittle funk thrown in for fun.

I'll 3rd Dan & Chris, the SLI-80 "F1".... sounded great right out of the box, getting better each session as it approaches 50 hrs.
Is SACD a dead format?
No, The Dead have yet to be remastered on SACD. It's the best redbook I can afford from here on out....
Marshall Tucker Re-masters
thanks for the heads up, lots of good memories there, hopefully they'll improve upon the original issue discs.
What Happens When You Die?
2 things for sure....When the tubes fail, the bride will most likely junk it & go to best buy or circuit city for an all-in-one.Tell the IRS to go ______ themselves, I'm free at last.
recommendation for volt ohm meter
Thanks everyone for your responses. Picked up the very basic yellow digital VOM at radio shack for $20 today & it works perfectly for my application.
cary 005 any news about it ?
I heard $8K. Way out out my price range, even used. I'm delighted w/my SLP 2002.
What are we listening to tonight?
or a couple of dirty water dogs....
Guitar Solos
Duane Allman on "You don't love me/Soul Serenade" from the Allman Brothers "Crossroads" compilation. An amazing fifteen or so minutes of guitar. Several other previously unreleased nuggets on this box set as well.
A "Unique" Voice...
Mercury Rev. This is one my listening companions cannot tolerate. In fact I looked for it in my collection & it has gone a missing, very suspicious. "Deserter's Songs" is great nonetheless.
What was your first music that you paid for?
Steppenwolf, "Monster" from the Murphy's cut-out bin for 99 cents.
Pat Metheny - One Quiet Night
agreed on both counts. The Way UP is great too. Can't wait to see the group at the Carefree March 18.
Should we have an Audiophiles Anonymous
This hobby used to be fun at one time, I swear......and they said separates wouldn't lead to harder stuff.
