Best amp for Meadowlark Blue Herons? never heard Meadowlark speakrs but always wanted to - but remember reading that Pat McGinty always kept a Music Reference RM200 around his shop & thought highly of it - that is if you don't mind going tubes - it'll create what you're looking f...
Congestion, clarity problems gone: M.R. RM-9 nice choice Jim, congrats. My only suggestion on your continued enjoyment of the amp would be buy your replacement tubes from RAM Labs/Roger - saves alot of aggravation & you'll always enjoy great sound for many years to come. cheers & enjoy!
Anyone heard Cary 303/300 after 400 hours burn-in? Worked fine & sounds great since I bought it new a couple years ago. I prefer the SS section to the tube in my setup running direct into the amp. I've even tried the recommended NOS Radiotechniques tubes. Upsampling off all the time. The 3V ou...
Fuses that matter. Thanks goes out to Roger Modjeski for bringing this to the attention of Music Reference owners. Roger carefully chooses the fuses used in his amps. He doesn't like to repair amps & neither do I.
Cassandra Wilson - Another Country thanks for the heads up Don, I'm all over it. Still enjoying Silver Pony regularly....cheers!
Laying it on the line hello peter...long time my friend... years ago you & I both enjoyed Pass X250 & Talon Raven-C's. Out of curiousity what's your take on that setup nowadays?

CARY -- WHERE ARE THE CHECKS AND BALANCES? I've always had good service from Cary when I needed it & I've owned a few of their tube amps, tube pre-amps & various CDP's. Can't say they were the most reliable or stable I've owned but all good sounding pieces w/a couple exceptions. Un...
Why aren't current country albums on vinyl thx roscoe, always liked lambchop so looking forward to hearing it.
Efficient Full Range Speakers hey old friend. When I sold my Talons (like we both used to own) I got a pair of Coincidents & never looked back - over 7 yrs now w/the same pair.
Amp & Speaker matching Depending on the design - if you don't mind a slight reduction in power, using the output taps lower than the impedance of your speakers can be beneficial in some cases. Presently I prefer the 4 ohm tap over the 8 in my system where the spkrs impe...
Your ONE all time favorite love song? great one Roxy54! btw, "Country Life" is my alltime fav album cover:)
System feedback coming thru speakers.....help How close is your turntable to the components of your rig & what's the room config. Back in the 70's I had a smallish room & the turntable wasn't isolated enought from the amp/spkrs & perhaps vibration was the culprit & I experienc...
A reasonably priced CD player with volume control several of the Cary players have an internal analog volume control, 303/200, 306/200, cdp-1, 303/300, perhaps some others but imo they are great run direct - 3v output via rca's & more thru the xlr outputs. i've run a 303/300 direct now for ov... |
