Preamp recommendation $300: see desired features You can get NAD 1600 pre/tuner's with remote for around $200 used. Older model, but I really like the sound of the older NAD stuff. Smooth and sweet, but very little sound stage compared to more expensive equipment. I am listening to mine in my of...
new to tuners I have vintage 80's NAD equipment in my office. NAD tuners of that era are respectable and fairly cheap. Not good for AM however.
MF A3.2 Preamp worthy upgrade to the Anthem TLP1? Sanjay,I have both the MF A3cr and A3.2cr. In my opinion, they are great pre amps! Not just for the price. I don't have any experience with Anthem equipment, but I have had both Audio Research and Conrad Johnson entry level tube pre amps. The MF i...
Looking for preamp to go with my NAD 2400 I have a musical fidelity A3cr pre amp in great shape you can have for $675. It is a great preamp for the money and mates with a variety of amps. Would be a huge upgrade from your NAD 7140 as a pre. That said, I have also owned Conrad Johnson's pv...
Warm interconnects recommendation I have found Synergistic Research actively sheilded alpha and kaliedescope cables to match very well in my system. I have Musical Fidelity electronics and B & W 802 matrix speakers. The cables were just warm enough to keep the system from bein...
Coolest looking vintage tuner..... I like my 1973 Kenwood 8005. Big, bold, silver/copper face. To each his own. Listening to it right now.
What preamp should I buy ? I love my Musical Fidelity A3cr. I think it is a great pre at that price range. The 3.2 is suppose to be better and could still be had for a grand.
Need Good Advice - Speaker Cable Hi Chris,In the budget cables, I have always liked some of the older Audioquest stuff. I originally had AQ Crystal as my introduction to decent but cheap cable. Currently have some midnight and cobalt versions unused in the basement. Audio Advisor...
Which warm sounding cd player for under $400? In my humble opinion, the Music Hall CD25 is a great player in this price range.Regards,Paul
Guilty Pleasures? I can't believe no one has mentioned Barry Manilow! I even named my daughter Mandy, but told her it was after the Boston song (which came out two years after she was born)
Tuners that do it? I purchased a Kenwood KT8300 here on Audiogon and had it shipped directly to Don Scott who cleaned, aligned and modified it. It is a great piece that I enjoy very much. I see two KT 8300's on sale on Agon now. I agree with Warnerwh. Go to fmtuneri...
B&W and Musical Fidelity I use the A3cr pre/pwr combo with B&W 802 matrix series 3. I think they are a very good fit as long as I don't try to crank it to loud. The 802's are a demanding load. The MF has plenty of current but is only 120 watts. The 802's could handle ...
Good match for Adcom 555? I have a very nice pair of Spica TC-60's in Oak that you can have for $400 plus shipping. They are in very good shape and I am the original owner. Imaging champs that work well with solid state amps like the Adcom. Let me know if you are intereste...
Musichall 2.1 or Project 1.2? I may have an mmf 5 availble. If you are interested drop me a note. I feel Music Hall has done a great job of taking basic Project tables and tweaking them to be slightly better at very good prices. Yes you can spend much more, but you will not be...
Best speakers under $650 I still like the Spica TC-60 for under $500 used. Has a magical quality that few speakers can match. Best on vocal, chamber, jazz etc but has enough punch to play classic rock, just don't try to play it to loud.Paul |
