VAC Signature MK2a pre "phono tube questions"
InnaMost manufacturers do not use because of cost and availability. Most manufactures buy new tubes by the case and sort them out from there usually from China or Russia.I am sure most would love to supply nice NOS, but have you tried buying a nic...
Ortofon RS-309D opinions
Buy a headshell that allows for azimuth adjustment.
SME 20/3 or TW Acustic Raven One
I have had my TW Acustic AC turntable now for about five years, and I came from a SME 30/2A and before that is was SME 20/2A. I will say that the old SME 20/2 should not be considered in the same league as the SME 30. AS good as the 20 may be is d...
How to reduce anti-skate on Graham Phantom B44 II
Also make sure magnets are not touching, and bearing pivot is centered in the bearing pocket.
TW-Acustic Arm
AndrewFrom my time with the Phantom, I find the 10.5 is a bigger sounding arm with even better dynamics and cleaner bass. You probaly notice that first, with all things being equal. Its sound stage to me is more pinpoint without having imaging tha...
TW-Acustic Arm
DarrenThe XV-1s is a tight fit, the headshell lead connectors are a bit long and the XV-1s is a long cartridge so it makes for a tight fit.I like how easy the TW arm is to setup. The VTA is nice and smooth, the anti-skate is very nice, and VTF mak...
TW-Acustic Arm
I have had my 10.5 for about a month now and I think it sounds and performs great. I first set it up wth my Miyabi 47 and heard music from my setup like never before. Bass extension, depth and size was the most I have ever heard in my house. Clean...
Tube Research Labs Dude vs. Shindo Labs preamps
All the Tron Reference or Ulitmate version of the their line stages, phonostages, or full function preamps contain many custom spec. parts made to Tron's specifications. Due to the lead time for some of thes parts which Tron does not keep in stock...
Stand out phono stages
EbmDid you just get one. I am thinking of adding the Tron Seven Ultimate as second phono to go with my Syren.
Where to get an arm board?
That's nice, did you make it?
2010 RMAF Analog Reports + Meet and Greet
TbgIt's a shame the Thales was damaged. I was looking forward to listening to it a little longer, and hoping to hear what Jeff said about it while using it in NY, but going into Jeff's room Saturday afternoon, it was off the table.Any other good a...
2010 RMAF Analog Reports + Meet and Greet
TbgThe Thales was setup for Friday, but it was setup with the wrong block under it, Jeff could not get the correct VTA range, so I think he decided it was better to not show it for the rest of the weekend.I liked Steve's room too. He handled it al...
2010 RMAF Analog Reports + Meet and Greet
HI DevThe Thales arm is out of my league as far as pricing goes so no interest in owning one. Wonderful idea though. The Raven 10.5 is wonderful sounding arm, always in control, smooth high's with nice clean upper extension. Bass was deap and tight...

2010 RMAF Analog Reports + Meet and Greet
I am looking forward to listening to the High Water Sound room. I want to listen to the Raven 10.5 and get a good look at the Thales arm. Jeff's sound is always top notch.Hopefully there will be more analog there this year overall.
