OK, so I have to ask. Is this real, or is this a joke?
Only a complete idiot would claim a product doesn’t work without ever trying it. I don’t know if it does work, but I have no reason to doubt those who have tried it and say it does. As far as I know, nobody who has tried it has found it doesn’t wo...
New cables - To judge now or after burn in period?
You can purchase a couple of 8ohm resistors of the appropriate wattage to act as substitutes for speakers to run your cables in. Keep the volume low so you do not exceed the wattage of the resistors and keep them well ventilated as they can get ve...
In general, how does price relate to quality?
+1 masteringMoney is currency, good sound is bliss.
Cable Goop Review George is going to freak!!
@JohanvzI used it on 2A3 pins and small signal pins. It made a huge difference.Have you looked into how to clean the tube sockets if you don't want to not use it anymore? Also, what would you do when you tube roll? Apply only to new tubes or re ap...
In general, how does price relate to quality?
There is a strong correlation between price and sound quality, but it's definitely not 100%. Many lower priced components outperform similar more expensive components. It's worth noting that price is always influenced by factors such as mark up, l...
Is your now then?
I don't regret a single upgrade I've made over the yearsI don’t regret my upgrades either, but I sure regret all the downgrades I have made. And I made many.
Marantz 8B Conversion to Triode Mode Help
@peterf6 I started off by building a couple of kits from bottlehead dot com. They all had very good and concise instructions, are fairly easy to build even for a complete novice, and they all worked and sounded great - way better than component...

@peterf6If you are interest in building your own amp, I’d suggest you start off building a kit. There is a lot of things to keep track of and a kit is great place to start.
Is your now then?
Do you think we strive to return to the past and remain in those influential times? Are our choices psychological, nostalgic even....? If you don't enjoy music today as much as you did in the past, this would probably be true. I do think I enjo...
Keeping Audiophilia And The Love Of Music Alive & Well!
I fail to see the value in brick-and-mortar audio stores in today's world.  Auditioning a component is a misnomer. Does anybody really believe they can hear what an amplifier sounds like and filter out the effects of the source, the cables, the sp...
single end round or flat
I have a Carver TFM 15CB amp connected to my KLH Nine full-range electrostats with a six-foot pair of 14 gauge zip! Not high-end enough for all you wire fanatics, eh?You’re either more deaf than any of us realized, or you used an SW/MW transistor ...

Marantz 8B Conversion to Triode Mode Help
You can probably roll back on your negative feedback some when you convert to triode.
Stone fireplace wall effects on acoustics?
Try your preferred layout and see what it sounds like. Given you want to limit first reflections I doubt the fireplace will be any worse than a regular wall. It will probably sound better than a regular untreated wall.
Listening at Night vs. Day
Sounds very plausible. My system is 100% on Li batteries. It’s significantly better than when run off the mains, no matter how well you filter it.
