Bluesound Node 2021 DAC - I sold my Denafrips Ares II
@riccitone "Also happy you you’ve added a Rel t5/x to good effect. Was considering one of those for my own next purchase." I feel supplementing the LFs on the Quads opens up another dimension in how you listen to your music. For all the Quads ple...
Bluesound Node 2021 DAC - I sold my Denafrips Ares II
@jin78    Hi, I tried 3 different cables, all digital coax RCA cables; Wireworld Silver Starlight 7 QED Reference Audio 40 VDH The First (the first iteration of this line) I tend to scour auction sites, scooping up any good used or sto...
Bluesound Node 2021 DAC - I sold my Denafrips Ares II
@rhljazz  Hand on heart, I can honestly say I never even considered the point you've just made; it makes total sense. I should have thought of it. But hey, no going back now. In hindsight, I probably should have bought the sub way back, ra...
Bluesound Node 2021 DAC - I sold my Denafrips Ares II
Thanks for all your thoughts, some great insights. Just to re-iterate, this isn't meant as a criticism of the Ares II, but for me, and the difference it made to my enjoyment of my system, it just wasn't cutting it. After my epiphany, all I could ...
Bluesound Node 2021 DAC - I sold my Denafrips Ares II
@wlutke you may be right. But, at that point in time, and where I was, the Ares II paid for my REL, which is definitely an overall improvement. However, I definitely take your point regarding modding the Node; I’ve been tossing around the idea in...
Bluesound Node 2021 DAC - I sold my Denafrips Ares II
@mahler123 worth a try. I can’t comment on the previous version of the Node as I’ve never heard them, but I have no further inclination to put an external DAC between my Node and amp following my experience. I must stress that this is very subject...

@treynolds155 yes, it's the version that was launched last summer. Kind regards
TP-Link MC200CM replacement PSU
Thanks very much, that's really helpful. Much appreciated 😊👍
Bluesound Node 2021 - adding Sub
Thanks audiotroy, I think I understand what you're saying.  There seems to be a majority over on the Naim forums that one shouldn't connect a sub via the Naim speaker outs. (I would have to stack banana plugs, as the Nait doesn't have binding pos...
How to tame a bright system?
Not familiar with your amp, but I auditioned the B&Ws you have and found them headache inducing. I think trying to remedy with cabling is merely damage limitation, and isn't going to solve your problem, especially if you're sensitive to those ...
Bluesound Node (2021) PS upgrade to Teddy Pardo; is it worth it?
@totem395 ah I see. Enjoy the Pegasus, let us know your thoughts when it arrives 👍
Bluesound Node (2021) PS upgrade to Teddy Pardo; is it worth it?
Just had to check; thanks @totem395 , you've disturbed my evening meal 😁. Yep, just started a 192khz on Qobuz; the Ares is displaying 48khz X4.  Pheeeewwww 😊 one less thing to think about 🤔
Bluesound Node (2021) PS upgrade to Teddy Pardo; is it worth it?
@totem395 thanks for the info; do you have a link to Alvin's original post. I wonder if that's true for the Node (2021) which is what I have, not the 2i. I'm sure I've seen the Ares II display 192khz on respective tracks/albums on Qobuz.  Could ...
Bluesound Node (2021) PS upgrade to Teddy Pardo; is it worth it?
Just as an aside, I had a nice improvement, not night and day, but significant, by inserting a short length of optical cable between two TP Link Media Converters at the end of my run of Cat6a from my router, then a short run of Supra Cat8 with Tel...
Bluesound Node (2021) PS upgrade to Teddy Pardo; is it worth it?
Thanks for all the contributions to my OP. I think I'm going to take plunge on the TP PSU for my Node (2021). It seems to be a consensus that you would have to spend a lot more on a new streamer to see a significant SQ jump from an un-modded Node....
