Suggest one obsure album we all should hear
The Weather Station - How Is It That I Should Look At The Stars Stripped-back, haunting beauty. Qobuz New Music discovery. - can't stop listening to this album. Had never heard of the artist prior. Female vocal and piano for the most part
what’s a song cover that you think is better than the original?
@larsman  100%, "insipid" is spot on to how I feel about Nash's stuff in CSN.
what’s a song cover that you think is better than the original?
@larsman wow, I was not aware of that at all. Missed that bus! 😊 I'm with you with JA. For me, Graham Nash just doesn't/didn't gel with Crosby and Stills. Harmony-wise, yes of course, but if hypothetically, all songs that were  predominantly Nash...
what’s a song cover that you think is better than the original?
This one caused many a debate with my friends back in the day; Jefferson Airplane's version of "Wooden Ships"  I love the original, but JA's version for me just takes the song to another level.
Audiolab DAC Opinions
I had one briefly last year but didn't like it at all. To me, it sounded unnatural, overly "digital" if that make sense. I experimented with all the different filters and various other settings on it but just could not gel with it. I got a return/...
What are we objectivists missing?
+1 @artemus_5 I'm so glad you've made this connection and referred to it here; it's been on my mind for a good while. ... and until the people in the related physics field(s) get a grip on it, I'm going to do what someone else alluded to; I'm goi...

Audioquest Storm Series power cables
@jayctoy thanks for the post and your experience with these PCs. I'm currently using lower level AQ PCs and wanted to see/hear for myself if they benefitted my system before moving on up and..... Yep, they certainly do.   Best wishes
Albums you do not get...a plea for help and understanding
Lots I just don't get, am indifferent to, or actively dislike.  Oasis are in the latter category. They were unavoidable here in the UK back in the 90s, and for me utterly insufferable. Everytime you turned the radio on, the TV, everywhere. The wh...
Denafrips Ares II - Why did you sell?
@djspinner i think that's a good point. It's what I did. I bought the Ares II pre-owned and sold it again for the same price I bought it for, minus PayPal charge of course.
Denafrips Ares II - Why did you sell?
I started a thread a little while back on why I sold my Ares II. I sold mine at the start of the year, as I felt it didn’t justify its cost, and SQ performance in my system, against the internal DAC of the Bluesound Node (2021 model). In hindsig...
How important is spending time with your gear?
@erik_squires Would never have thought of this concept, but now you have brought it in to the world; I read your OP, paused to digest, and then felt disturbingly uneasy at the thought of it. Gave me an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach. I t...
Bluesound Node 2 vs. Node (2021)
@skirescue911 Hi, I’ve just started using the USB output on my Node "3" to a new DAC I’ve had for around a month. While for me it works flawlessly streaming natively from the Node/BluOS, Roon/USB has issues in the form of pops and crackles. This ...
Poll: Naim owners, what cabling are you using? DIN? RCA? NACA5? Other?
@jsbach1685 sorry, to correct the above; I *don't own Naim source components
Poll: Naim owners, what cabling are you using? DIN? RCA? NACA5? Other?
@jsbach1685  Hi I have the Nait XS2; I tried Witch Hat Phantom speaker cables, I found them a little bright so returned them. I've finally settles with Atlas Hyper 2.0 for speaker cables and Atlas Hyper Symmetrical interconnects (RCA). I o...
