10 Audio Cable Myths and Facts Oh great, the cable naysayers have propagated from the other cable naysayers site ANA to agon, don’t let this site go to ruins too
10 Audio Cable Myths and Facts Interesting, why is it that I can hear a difference between cables if everything you claim is a myth? I’m not saying the difference is always better when climbing up in price, but there is a difference.
Parasound A21+ or PS Audio S700 monos? Doesn’t ps audio offer a 30 day money back offer? Instead of relying on comments/opinions, bring the ps audio amps in for an in-house trial Using your equipment and if you don’t like them, send them back. I have heard good reviews on the 700’s. I ...
Roon's update sounds really good Why would you use wifi for streaming over wired? WiFi is a terrible protocol, so many interruptions/retransmission packets/possible dropouts. The speed is much slower too
New setup For under $5k used, I would add the Hegel h360 or the McIntosh ma6900
Streaming Sorry but the bluesound node 2i is not a de facto standard for streaming. Bluesound makes a decent product but nowhere near the top. You can do much better but it will cost more, from a little bit more to a lot more.
Dedicated 20 amp line My electric company installed a whole house suppressor at the meter which costs $6 a month. If any of the electronics in the house get damaged from a surge, we get it replaced. Last 2 houses we built, I had them install 4 20 amp dedicated circuits...
I need a good looking and good sounding speaker .... For killer looks and wood work like furniture as well as excellent SQ, look at the Usher line of speakers. Real wood is used and it takes 3 days to bend the wood to make the cabinet. Get a pair with their DMD diamond tweeter
Surge protector vs wall debate for amps I have a whole house surge protection unit at the meter which is rented from the local utility for $6 a month. It protects everything inside the house and comes with a protection plan that will fix or replace anything damaged from any surge. I hav...
Revel f208, dead center image but everything jumbled up? Room treatments? Speaker positioning correct? Are you using anybody’s positioning formula like from Cardas, Jim Smith, the 1/3 or 1/5 formula? You don’t necessarily want the separation of the speakers to equal the distance to the listener. For exam...
What should I choose?? Bryston and B&W would not be a good fit. You need an amp that would add warmth. For some time, B&W paired their speakers with Classe amps for just this reason. Mcintosh amps would also add warmth.
upgrade Dynaudio Special 40 to Kef Reference 1 There is no upgrade! These are expensive speakers! For this kind of money they should be perfect! Are we talking about the audio hobby here? Foolish statements! Both of these speakers are fairly cheap in the scheme of things. A $50k speaker will be...
does MacBook Pro need a DAC? If you want to use the Mac port as a toslink connection, you will need to buy a miniplug extender for your toslink cable or buy a new toslink to miniplug cable.if you want anything more than background music, you will need to use an external dac. ...
Separates or Integrated? What makes more sense? Too many compromises with integrated amps. I’ve had a few really good integrated amps and when I compared the sq of their integrated to the same manufacturer’s separates, the integrated amp fell short.I had a nice Hegel H300 integrated that worked...
It isn't the bits, it's the hardware I prefer my dac that converts all redbook to dsd. Also, this dac is fpga based which allows the developer to upgrade the dac for free a couple times a year at the same time increasing SQ. |
