Purchase on Audiogon arrived not as described I purchased an item for about $2500 using PayPal credit. The next day I cancelled, and the seller sent a refund. It took PayPal credit 3 weeks to finally remove the charge. I even opened up a dispute showing the merchant’s refund. PayPal blamed it...
Audio Quest Niagara 5000 Presently I am using the Michi 8. (1800 watts per channel!) (Read my current review) Audiogon Discussion Forum Previous to that I used Bob Carver M350 (tube), Pass Labs X350.8, X350.5 (solid state), Atma-Sphere M60 3.3 (tube) ozzy
Audio Quest Niagara 5000 Generally, it is better to plug the amps directly into the wall outlet. That is until you use the AudioQuest 7000 units. Believe what you will, I have experienced it. Merry Christmas! ozzy
Aardvark Ethernet noise isolator So, I ordered the iFi ethernet unit. It was about 1/4 the price of the Aardvark and perhaps if it doesn’t do much for my audio it may help my video. And, through Amazon I can always return it for a refund. ozzy
Whats playing on your system today? Lots of Neil Young. Too bad he has lost his song after all these years. ozzy
Bananas vs Spades - for Jumpers? Most bananas can be manually adjusted to create more surface contact. I would use the opposite of what ever my speaker cables use for jumpers. Makes a cleaner looking connection. ozzy
Do you adjust your subwoofer Beware of using the published specs to determine how low your main speakers actually go. Try to play a test track with defined frequency levels from Quboz or from wherever and hear how low your speakers will actually perform. Then, set your sub c...
Axpona 2024 who is going and why? If I attend, I would like to meet as many Audiogoners as possible. ozzy
Audio Quest Niagara 5000 I own the AudioQuest 7000. I hear no hum. But I suppose if I stuck my ear on top of the unit, I could probably detect something. Noise heard thru the speakers? No way, BS. All transformers will produce some noise. I guess it would depend on what ...
Axpona 2024 who is going and why? Funny you ask. I bought the Clarisys speakers based on the many positive reviews they received from the Axpona show. Just imagine what I might buy if I actually attend next year? On second thought maybe... I better stay home? LOL! ozzy
Axpona 2024 who is going and why? I went a few years back and enjoyed it. I may try to attend in 2024. ozzy
Aardvark Ethernet noise isolator Has anyone tried one of these? LAN iSilencer by iFi audio - LAN iSilencer (ifi-audio.com) ozzy
Aardvark Ethernet noise isolator Oh yes. The PS Direct Stream did also. Using fiber eliminates the wire in the equation. To me, the sound change was immediate and a large improvement. There is a calmness to the sound. ozzy
Aardvark Ethernet noise isolator Yes, originally when I had the PS Direct Stream Dac, I used similar converters. They seemed to work well. ozzy
Aardvark Ethernet noise isolator No, sorry. The EtherRegen is essential to my set up because it outputs the fiber to my Lumin X1. There was no way to try the Aardvark after the EtherRegen. If it couldn’t improve at the front end, then I had no need for it. But others should try... |
