Revopod vs IsoAcoustics Gaia 1's I leveled mine by the base. The top would be difficult to level because of the slanted top. With the Townshend's that would be not needed. ozzy
Revopod vs IsoAcoustics Gaia 1's Never tried or heard of the Revopod, but with my Focal Sopra 2's I found the Townshend Podium #3 to be wayyy better than the Gaia 1's. They really transformed the sound quality i.e. bass and soundstage quality. Highly recommended. Ozzy

Cable supports on the cheap... AudioQuest Fog Lifters are pretty inexpensive (8-$149) look kinda cool and seem to work pretty well. ozzy
High Fidelity Cables? I use the "newer" Pro formula which I have been told is newer over the Q45T, and NPS 1260. I just applied it to my new speaker cables. I would describe the sound as more whole or rounded sounding. The music sounds more natural. I am impressed. o...
Experiences With Costly Balanced XLR Interconnects Above $3,000 I have tried so many cables through the years. I must admit I do like the Infigo Signature XLR and USB cables. Even though I had many problems with the distributor. They have a very dynamic sound quality that bettered anything I have tried or own...
Is There Just One Single Album That Does It For You, Completely? Just One. CCR- "Green River". I still play it often after all these years. ozzy
Martin Logan vs. Everything I have owned many dynamic type speakers throughout my life. But I do like the open Planar/Electrostatic sound. I like very much the Martin Logan or even the Magnepan sound, but there always seemed to be tradeoffs, especially in the bass. Never hea...

Tung-Sol kt170 tube started glowing brighter kitegod, I have never used KT-170 tubes only the KT-120. Perhaps you can find a used KT-170 with low hours on it, I would definitely replace the one that you describe is glowing different than the others. Somewhere down the line, if you keep tha...
Footers- Break In? Such A Change. gbmcleod, You are right on. I just got some new very heavy (140lb ea.) amps and I waited until they were broken in before adding the CM footers. Now, with the footers underneath, they really add extra depth and realism. BTW, I have the CM under ...
Is my amp good enough? Looking at the Stereophile review, consider the statement below. "The Monitor Audio needs to be partnered with an amplifier that is comfortable driving low impedances." ozzy
Whats playing on your system today? +1 jafant, Hall & Oates- A few selected songs... quite impressive. It’s been a long time since I have heard these songs. ozzy
What was the first power cable that you noticed a difference in the sound? The first power cord that really impressed me was the Synergistic Master Coupler. Before that, I always thought that all that was needed was AC and a power cable. "Afterall, with the miles of AC cabling running from the power station to my house, ...
Puritan psm 156 vs. Audioquest Niagra 5000/7000 I have not used the Puritan; they seem to be highly regarded and are quite a bit cheaper than the Niagara. I do own the AudioQuest Niagara 7000 and when I added the AudioQuest Dragon Power cord to the Niagara the overall sonic performance increase... |
