Planar Speakers and Diffusors
mijostyn, benanders Thank you for your comments they are welcome and interesting but seem to be off track from my original question. I have learned that keeping my system simple is the best way. I no longer have a dac, preamp, etc. The signal goe...
Planar Speakers and Diffusors
This is a recent post from the Audio Sharks Forum by SunCoast Audio about the Clarisys speakers. "Clarisys are panels, dipoles, so the sound is coming out the front and back. It doesn’t care what’s on the side walls as its radiation pattern is un...
Planar Speakers and Diffusors
tom8999, To cut off the frequencies below 100hz and send them to your subs, you will need some type of electronic crossover. In the past I have owned the JL CR-1, but I eventually sold it because it wasn’t as transparent as I wanted. ozzy

Planar Speakers and Diffusors
Thanks for the responses. From what I understand, the Clarisys speakers are designed to reflect sound forward and behind the speakers. They use the back wall reflection as part of the open audio design. The Planar design does not radiate any info...

Cable Break In for the Naysayers
mitch2, Ok, I understand. I owned the AudioDharma cable cooker for some time. I thought it worked pretty good. Eventually, I started adding heavier, stiffer cabling and it became no longer easy to reuse them periodically on the cable cooker, so...
AudioQuest Pegasus vs Thunderbird Interconnects
classicrockfan, You just joined AG in January and all your posts seem to be negative. Is that why you joined? What type of equipment are you using that does not improve with better cabling? ozzy
Paypal drastic changes
The "new" tax laws should reign in the tax cheaters, not the folks trying to sell used equipment. Just another example of the Government trying to squelch the little guy...because they are easier targets... ozzy
Audio Racks, Just How beneficial? looking for guidance in upgrading
I have had for a number of years a steel rack(s) (I think it was made by Solid Steel). It has modular shelfs with each steel shelve able to insert into the next and has spikes on each wooden shelve. The rack can go as high as you want. The config...
