New to Streaming RPI4 and Hifiberry DAC + DSP Hooked up to Tidal first since 5hey had a student discount and I am a lifelong learner. Made the price right. Lots of rap and pop. May not be my cup of tea.
Heresy's II Finally Sound Right-sorry if there's a place i should have put this post.... Very cool. I have a set of Heresy 1s and a set of Quartets in regular use. The Quartets are hooked up to a Vincent SV 500 and they really sing. I used damping material on all the horns and found the sound much more to my liking. No other upgrades ...

Jazz for someone who doesn't like jazz. I am a jazz lightweight, but I can put on Earl Klugh or Peter White and listen all night. Realize this isn't Coltrane, but it's perfect for me. Possibly this would be a good introduction to the genre.
James Taylor I have that same set. I haven't listened to it in a while. Sounds like a good use of isolation on Easter Sunday afternoon.
Great country recording Regarding the comment that Nashville hasn't skimped on recording.- I popped a Tim McGraw CD in and was really disappointed in the SQ. I don't play a ton of country, but the comparison to James Taylor and Jackson Brown CDs was significant. When sta...
Expectations after re cap of power-amp I replaced all the caps in several vintage amps with Elna Silmic and Nichicon FG caps and the improvement was significant. For the $50-75 I invested it was well worth it. What amp could you buy for $500 that would compete power wise with the Yamaha?
The Raspberry Pi 4 ... what's new? What os or software are you using for streaming? I just built a hifiberry dac + pro on a RP 4. Dac seems quite competent. Not sure of software to drive the streamer.
James Taylor I saw JT in Lexington Ky and the show was a bucket list check off. Still gives me chills. Interesting life he has had. If you aren't aware of his personal struggles from a young age it is worth taking some time. He has plenty to draw from. One of ...
What other Hobbies or Interests Do You Have? Don’t want to derail, but curious if all of you consider yourself highly addictive personality types? Most appear to have been intensely interested in other hobbies or activities beyond Audio pursuit of perfection. I have succumbed to watches, pho...
amp for vandersteens I run a set of 2CE non-sigs with 2 vintage Mitsubishi DA15 amps each running a single speaker with a splitter allowing for each high and low to be driven by one of the four channels. I think it is called vertical bi-amping. These can be picked up ...
Help- audiophile husband just dies My faith in humanity is being restored by all of you. My best to Julie.
Streamer opinion.. Pease comment on validity. I see this in a similar light as the question surrounding using a CD as a transport- and the differences between units. I have 2 older EAD units that I use with external DAC's and they are superior to any other CD player/transport I have used. I a...
Sax, piano, guitar recommendations I own a Michael Franks CD- Goodwill find - and I have Clapton unplugged. Thanks for the heads up.
Has all decency left the entire planet? SchubertI appreciate your passion. My comment around forgiveness was in more of an earthly manner of forgiveness- not in the absolution type. We will just need to disagree on your last point about ignorance. IMHO, Ignorance is dependent on the for... |
