I’ve heard the new ones on several systems- Moon and Boulder. It’s the first Wilson Speaker I’ve lusted after;)
My Analog Journey - Opinions Sought
Music is awesome- I have analog music and it’s something I enjoy for a small percentage of my listening. Yet it’s always satisfying and shocks some of my guests if they aren’t aware of how good vincas sound.    Enjoy your journey! And I don’t thi...
Moon 390 Network Streamer
@singere M400s were awesome- I got an offer I couldn’t refuse to trade them in for 860A V2.    I used to have a McIntosh amp and when I was auditioning -I thought 330 blew an M462. So I decided to go for M400s.    I think 390 & M400s are an ...
Surge protectors--how many $ make sense?
My experience is a two-fold approach  1. Whole house surge protector  2. Shunyata denali and Alpha v2 NR cables. The difference in sound (or more specifically lack of sound and noise) was noticeable to me. It also has a mechanical surge protecto...
Dac with build-up streamer
@silverfoxvtx1800 i owned Moon 280D and in my upgrade path have listened to Linn and DCS prior to finalizing on Moon’s 791. The preamp functionality was significant as was the price.    There’s a lot of great DACs and the overall digital chain (s...
Moon 390 Network Streamer
@singere  I used two M400s to drive my 390. Two things to consider: 330 is the stereo version, buy 1 and if you desire more power get s second and the bridging cables If you are buying new and have a relationship with dealer inquire about pur...
Moon 390 Network Streamer
I owned Moon 390 and multiple Moon products.    I view it as an excellent piece of equipment - I initially looked at it’s features as a streaming DAC. I replaced my McIntosh C 2600 with it and viewed it as an upgrade. Lots of excellent equipment...
Is it the gear or the ears?
Thanks for sharing! I am not a fan of going to listen to live music. A few key reason:s Flexibility to listen to music  Studio albums - I like them and enjoy the point in time No crowds I agree it’s important to enjoy things versus let thi...
Equipment insurance coverage
I've asked this question of my insurance provider every year (USAA) and when I explored other options (I do so every few years).  I have been told multiple times my audio equipment (unless it's pro-audio equipment I use for a business) is personal...
Dac with build-up streamer
Yes, I have owned a sub-$5k dac with streamer.  Moon 280D is an excellent solution. There's trade-off's and benefits for combined units - I chose Moon 280D based on how it sounded and my goals (at the time).  I currently have Moon 791 which is a ...
Auditioned Wilson Sabrina X vs B&W 803D4 and Shocked
Trust your ears!  Wilson makes great speakers and I don't many of their models to other brands (I do think the new Watt Puppys are incredible but they are also almost $40k). The amplification does have an impact on the sound - if you don't own Mc...
??? What Is The MOST Expensive System You Ever Heard ??? What Was Your Opinion ???
I’ve been able to hear many ‘high end systems’. In my experience there is a correlation between price and sound at a macro-level that can make the difference in the experience from interesting to awe inspiring.    Electronics have their own chara...
Streamer apps critical
Bluesound is awesome!I considered keeping a Node just for the interface. Moon’s MiND 2 is very good Tidal Connect is not to bad either I enjoy Roon for the ‘liner notes’ type of data.
What Speaker Cables Taught Me About Audiophiles
Here’s what I am noticing - we all have preferences.    I have experienced differences in systems and various components in my system (including cables). Ultimately I trust folks reading this are enjoying music as much as more than they ever have.
Doozy of an amp question
@roxy1927 I'm sure there's a controversy with some.  Moon has a history of designing amps for bridging via selector switches on the rear.  It's just one option as there are many excellent options shared by others on this thread.
