Can I integrate 5Ch Surround with my Stereo setup? Guys, just to confirm, should I link the front channel outputs from the pre/pro to a regular input on my Supratek preamp, or the Tape-in inputs? It looks like both suggestions were made - will they both work OK (I just want to be completely risk a...
Can I integrate 5Ch Surround with my Stereo setup? Hi Guys:All great info. Thanks so much. Looks like I'm more ready for surround sound that I had thought. Cheers,John.
Can I integrate 5Ch Surround with my Stereo setup? Alas, I don't have the home theatre pass through. Although, I could see myself upgrading to another supratek preamp in a year or so - I could get a HT pass through then. Also, my power amps only have one input, so I'm assuming that getting another...
Turntable stands I have my Teres 245/OL Silver/Shelter 501mk2 rig directly on concrete blocks, about two feet off the floor. The TT has three black diamond racing cones affixed to the bottom of the table. I think the concrete works well, but am open to other sugge...
Preamp Deal of the Century Hi Hpfish:I have a Syrah, and I live in Los Altos, Ca. I'd be happy to let you hear it in my system. However, I'm between CD players right now, and only have a DAC on hand (no transport as yet), as I mostly listen to vinyl these days. Hence, if yo...
What was your latest LP find?? Out of all the recent LPs I purchased, two stand out as stunning:Jacintha, "Here's to Ben" - I think it cost me $25 sealed, but a stunning audiophile piece.Other LP is Stravinsky's "Firebird Suite" - Dorati is the conductor - an old CBS label (kin...

Looking for 42in Plasma TV Please help My comments are a little off target with the user's initial question, but I just thought I'd mention that I saw TV ads for Gateway's 42inch plasma for a mere $2,499. It seems like such a great price point. I hadn't really considered a plasma at pr...
Room Treatments added, with negative effects.. Hi Folks:Thanks again for all the additional suggestions. I have the Virgos set up based on Audio Physic recommendations, although not their ultimate preferred position (which is 50% the way into the room), but rather just 25% into the room from t...
Preamp Deal of the Century Hi Bwhite. Wow, $10k certainly is an arm and a leg. Fat chance of me getting that rig. I think I might very well follow through on your Bidat recommendation. Yea, I'm looking forward to the Teres upgrade - should be quite a treat. Cheers.
Preamp Deal of the Century Hi Bwhite, thanks for the tip on the other tubes. Yea, I guess the KenRad likely is dead (cost me $110 after shipping for the pair too ;-) I'll see can I get refund or replacement.Yea, I do need to get my hands on that PC. Right now I'm between CD...
Preamp Deal of the Century Hi Folks:I purchased a pair of KenRad 6L6G for the regulator position in my Syrah, but one of the tubes does not appear to show any filiment lighting up and it's cold to the touch even after extended use (whereas the other one is lit up and warm/h...
Room Treatments added, with negative effects.. Well, folks I think I solved the complex room treatment challenges...... by removing the *$(%@ treatments altogether. From the effects I was getting, it's hard for me to see how these absorbtion treatments can have any benefit. I'd still be open t...
Room Treatments added, with negative effects.. Thanks folks for the comments so far. Some interesting possibilities. Just to mention, while I can put some absorbtion material on one of the side walls, it won't be symetrical with the listening position and the speakers (they will need to be clo...
Make me feel better I broke my Denon DL-103 too, so you're not the only one ;-) I broke it while moving my table to a new location and installing a new phono stage, so I never even got to hear the table on the new phono stage. Oh well - at least it wasn't some Keotsu... |
