Synergistic New Tesla Line...Any comments?
All power chords are now treated with the Tesla stuff.. The cables are the same though, but they do that two million volt thing to them. I believe the same is done on the digital cables. Give Synergistic a call to confirm for sure if you wish - I ...
isolation
People can try to explain this away however much they want.. Fact is that a good platform (or rack) does wonders to most equipment. The differences are NOT subtle in my experience.Just because you can't find a logical explanation for why things im...
Survey-What is your most used source?
It's about 80% CD, and the remaining a mix between my computer and radio.
Recommended one make systems?
There are many brands that come to mind. Obviously keeping within the same brand can have benefits. For one thing, components are most likely to match eachother well, and they have often been voiced together. Then there's the design aspect of it o...
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good?
Bobf, it's good to hear your opinions! :)I for one would be very interested to hear about the GG power chords, particularly since I'm looking for new chords..
What is your most beautiful component?

Levinson 33H vs Boulder 1060/2060??
The Boulder sound? Well, the best way to describe it is that it has no sound. Boulder amps just play music, and nothing else. There's no wow factor, nothing sticks out. The first time I auditioned them, I sat down with a friend in a sofa and playe...
Mstislav Rostropovich has died at the age of 80
Ack.. It's a sad day, indeed. :(
Levinson 33H vs Boulder 1060/2060??
Have a listen to Boulder first. What these guys do, nobody else comes close to. It's just a question if this is "your sound" or not. If it is, then you're home! Try 1010+1060, if you like that and can afford it, listen to 2010+2060. :)At this leve...
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good?
John, many thanks for your opinions, I hear you completely. Seems we share the same philosophy when it comes to live ambience. :)Art, aha! Now that makes sense to me, I've heard some people have had issues with the Eichmanns but the thought never ...
Best CD player money can buy ? MBL, Nagra, Naim?
Try to listen to MBL 1621/1611 or the smaller 1521/1511 combos. Personally I think that's all one can ask for, but that's me. I've never heard anything as natural as the 1621/1611 combo, it's almost scary sometimes.
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good?
Bobf, yeah, I will certainly check this once I get my new rig delivered.. I told Steve too, I can't believe what I was hearing, it was nothing like what I experience with my headphones. I'll report back once the stuff gets here!Did anybody try the...
Five "Golden Rules" of HiFi?
1. Trust only your own ears; ignore what other people say, and what scientific claims and/or reasoning is used. Mostly other people only mean well, but the only person having your ears is you. We all experience things differently, and we like diff...
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good?
I bought a GG Revelation IC for my headphone rig (CD->headphone amp, RCA) and I've been very pleased with the results. Steve was very helpful both before and after the sale, I felt completely safe all the way!I haven't had too expensive cabling...
Comparing complete Beethoven Symphonies on SACD
There's also the Bernhard Haitink cycle on LSO, available on both CD and SACD. They sound great, and mostly they're potent performances. Very hyped here in Europe right now. I'd say they're a great buy, they're cheap!http://lso.co.uk/buyrecordings/
