Most overrated bands
Not sure Chicory Tip were ever rated at all, so hard for them to qualify, but Son of my Father might have caused some to imagine greatness was within :)  Agree on Led Z, Velvets, Radiohead, and I'd add the Beatles.. would not care if I never heard...
Sellers increasingly overgrade records
Had a couple of really bad experiences with Discogs recently, including sellers who become very hostile (to the point of harassment) when given a negative review. Basically, you need to check the 'neutral' ratings on Discogs to get close to the tr...
Not Enough Options for Auditioning Speakers
Sadly, speaker auditioning is a challenge everywhere now. We're continually told by  reviewers to go hear for ourself before buying, without any acknowledgement that going to hear a pair of high end speakers is no simple matter.  I ended up going ...
Another Audiophile obituary
Ah, Alvin -- read him a lot back in the day in the UK. RIP good man. Peter was more of a mystery to me, seemed to have an agenda, but what's new? Sorry to hear of any good writer's passing.
Origin Live Turntables?
I had an OL arm, bought new, that had serious internal fault necessitating complete rewire back that factory. While many report good communication with the company, I was left dangling for weeks at a time and told repeatedly there was probably not...
Reliable burn-in service for cables and outlets
Not used for cryo service but did have Take Five build me a special DIN to RCA I could use to burn in my phono cable. Quick, reliable service, and excellent build quality. So, FWIW, I would recommend them for individual cable work anytime.
audio :the crazy room where they DONT WANT YOUR BUSINESS
get rid of all 'nutjobs'
Thinking of replacing my Bat spaceheater with class D, real world thoughts please
The BAT's a great amp. I had (and still do actually) a BAT VK500SE which continues to give solid performance. I did hear and compare amps from W4S, Nuforce and Digital Amp Co in my rig, all of which have strengths but it took a pair of Spectron mo...
Audiogon's Express Checkout
Am new to it too and was keen to try it as I’ve had issues with Paypal. So I just sold an item, my item was delivered yesterday and, expecting payment soon, was unpleasantly surprised to learn now that my money would be ’released’ to my bank in 8 ...
Can't tell,if my house is properly grounded
Am a bit confused about what has changed. Seems like hum came when you changed room...and the gear change was a switch to single ended rather than balanced cables from phono stage, and new speakers? Speakers and amp seem to check out ok, correct? ...
Boulder monoblock 2150
What I noticed was the 2150's $99,000/pr price tag. I didn't read any further. This is getting ridiculous.I think it's way past that point....
Are there other Artisan Fidelity TT owners aorund?
Any update on this? I gave up on my OL arm.
Seller asked for PayPal fees after the sale. Should I pay them or not?
Seller seems like a jerk if it's as you say. You honored your end, seller needs to do likewise. Report extortion to A'gon
Are there other Artisan Fidelity TT owners aorund?
I've an Origin Live arm on my table...only it's not on, it had to go back to the UK with a wiring problem even though purchased new through AF.  If I were doing it again I'd look at other arms.
remove tubes before moving cross town?
If I had to take the tubes out of my guitar amp every time I drove to a session, I'd give up. Maybe audio gear is more sensitive but I'd worry more about bending pins taking tubes in and out than I would a little driving.
