The Evolution of Modern Jazz
Inna I got it to work, my bad. Such a striking photograph, it certainly fits the music. Although Hossam Ramzy is new to me, I've always liked belly dance music, and the dancers too; hope you can add more.
The Evolution of Modern Jazz
Out of all world jazz "Afro Brazilian" is the most impressive. These rhythms sound better than the one's straight out of Africa. The leading proponent of this music is "Dom Um Romao"; this is "shaking". I like the way the drums come "ripping" righ...
ESS AMT 1D: sell for parts or attempt to restore?
You have diamonds in the rough. Replace the woofers and upgrade the crossover capacitors.
The Evolution of Modern Jazz
Inna, use markup tags, post it again and "preview first" to make sure it works.
The Evolution of Modern Jazz
When jazz is blended with music from other countries, I call it "world jazz". What began as an American music art form, now belongs to the world. I've discovered so many blends; unfortunately, I can't share them all with you, however, I will share...
Sound stage, front, middle, or behind your speaker
The room is 22 X 14, the speakers are 7 feet from the back wall and 16 inches from the side wall. Since it's impossible to measure an invisible illusion precisely, maybe it's 5 feet.In regard to your statement on electronics, I get quite agitated ...
Coleman Hawkins encounters Ben Webster long
A little something for the Coleman Hawkins fans, and even more for the Milt Jackson fans.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMgwWAaxQQ4
Are you recording your vinyl?
I have recorded my vinyl, and my TT is in moth balls. Since I re-engineered a vinyl computer interface in order to have one good enough, I can't comment on that; but the playback is as good as it gets. The computer is not the limiting factor, the ...
Sound stage, front, middle, or behind your speaker
After reading everyone's response, I think the vaulted ceiling in my listening room has an effect. The speakers appear to be useless pieces of furniture, unless it's an old recording and then more sound emanates from the speakers. I like invisible...

Only if you're rich.
CJ PV-10 no sound
If you have a shorted capacitor some where, it will blow the tube each time it's replaced. That can get expensive. I think you should send it back to CJ.
Art Blakey, king of the drums.
Zaikesman, I just checked; I have that. It's Blakey's most memorable in my opinion. That lineup was too incredible for words. Oscar Pettiford is the best bassist ever, or ever will be. (all music is subjective)
Art Blakey, king of the drums.
Shadorne, can you help me figure out; why do I keep looking for James Brown to come running out on the stage and grab the mike.
The Evolution of Modern Jazz
Since we won't go into "World jazz" until Monday, now is a good time to debate on whatever has been posted, or post any genre of jazz you like.Foster, you once mentioned you liked Bill Evans more as a sideman, so do I; but not always. This is one ...
Art Blakey, king of the drums.
Foster, tell me what you think about these two Blakey's. Maybe you can use them to illustrate the drumming you were talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JV0ew5RJodM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoqCGc12Rog&feature=related
