Help educate Analogue rookie
I'm more into vinyl now than ever, and I'm just starting over. My first record was Sonny- hey, I was a kid! Then I bought The Doors. I was the proud owner of a Clarion turntable, worked all summer and bought some more albums. It wasn't until I had...

A Very Long Primer on Record Cleaning Fluids
Justin-time, Thanks a bunch. Lots of this is over my head, but I read every word with interest and a desire to find the best way to care for my precious LPs. Your time and effort is greatly appreciated. What lead me to this thread, specifically, i...
What's your latest "Discovery"
John Reischmann's North of The Border. Excellent acoustic bass, guitar and on-fire Mandolin. Jazzy, bluegrassy and totally balls out playing. A few numbers are incredibly sweet without any syrup. Please do yourselves a favor and grab this great CD.
Is Odyssey Power amp Stratos better than Krell?
I cannot say much about Krell, as I've never owned any, but the Odyssey Stratos-yes. I owned a pair for a few months. Found them harsh in upper treble and "hummed" in my system. The Odyssey had some awsome attributes- great soundstage, depth, bass...
Top "covers"
Of course, All along the Watchtower(which was written by Jimi, but Bobby's hand did the actual writing.) Even Dylan said it. The Bands version of All Along the W is powerful, ripping and on the map. Also, Los lobos version of The Dead's -Bertha.
What music would you like at your funeral?
Lil Wing, Hendrix
Best live album you've ever heard?
Best Live is Gato Barbierri. I lost the album, but it's something like Live at Montreaux, recorded in the 70s. The audience waited until 2:00 am to hear his band/orchestra from Argentina. Most of the band did not make the flight, so half the music...

Most achingly-beautiful music
Django's Nuage. Makes me want to cry. Toots and The Maytals- Take me Home, Country Road. Toots loves his West Jamaica, he does not like to tour for that reason. I consider him right there with Otis redding, Aretha Franklin. Of course, Beethovens 9...
