EQ's... why doesnt everybody have one?
Eldartford, can the Behringer delay one channel versus the other to compensate for small differences in speaker distances? If so, is the adjustment done automatically as part of the room correction process? What microphone do you recommend for use...
WILSON PICKETT- R.I.P.
No need to be sad, just wait 'til the midnite hour, dial 634-5789 and ask for Mustang Sally. You'll find him there.
EQ's... why doesnt everybody have one?
GML, Millennia, Manley, Drawmer and Z-Sys are just some of the EQs that would easily qualify as audiophile grade.
EQ's... why doesnt everybody have one?
Eldartford, if I understand it correctly, the Behringer is a combo graphic/parametric equalizer with a few added features. It is not a room correction device. It cannot adjust for time delay/phase and the EQ controls are too board to address all b...
When will your system be enough?
So if the the question was re-worded to read "Will your system ever make you happy?" would your replies stay the same?
EQ's... why doesnt everybody have one?
Used Tact 2.0s are selling at a little under $1k. Factory refurbs go for $1.5k. They are far superior at room correction and measurement than the Behringer and they include measurement mics and software. In addition to the room correction frequenc...

One use of EQ is room correction. A parametric EQ can do wonders in smoothing out bass response. It's not a panacea, but a useful tool that puts the icing on the cake after you've experimented with speaker/listener placement, room treatments, etc....

Upgrading is hard while listening to music is easy. Call me lazy. I admire those who have the will to push sound reproduction to the limits, but it's not something I wish to pursue.
Rat Shck Presidian 40-5053. Next Sonic Impact?
I'd be very wary of this speaker. I took a look at the tech specs and it very clearly states that the only language supported was English. So if you're into any opera, world music, foreign films, etc. this is NOT the speaker for you. I guess to ke...
Minor keys are like spice and alcohol?
Everybody who's every lived has had some hellhounds on their trail at some time. Expressing that musically is about about the tension between the major and the minor. As an aside, last night I saw a very fine performance by Sanderling/Toledo Sympho...
Great music but poor recording recommendations.
"Katy Lied" has some well documented audio problems. All the vinyl and CD versions I've heard sound fairly compressed and somewhat rolled off at the frequency extremes.
Amateur inherited an audio system...
Raycc, the people here on Audiogon are died in the wool audio fanatics. They really do mean well when as a group they tell you to keep the system. By audiophile standards it's a very nice system, but that doesn't mean it's a good system for you. Y...
Great music but poor recording recommendations.
Duke Ellington's "Live, 1940 From the Crystal Ballroom in Fargo, ND". It's a transcription from a radio broadcast of a typical night on the road of the world's greatest dance band. It's very low-fi, the band is at times quite sloppy, but it's pure...
Joni Mitchell Blue - Wow help me Agoners
Here's a good overview of Joni's career with discussions on each album. Don't take their comments as gospel, but they give a good feel for how she's evolved from one period to the next.
What paint to use on power outlets
Clearly, someone has been sniffing the paint.
