AR ref2 mk1 or ref 3
There is no doubt that I am partial because I own the Ref 3 but simply put I have never experienced music in such a fashion as with the Ref 3. Be prepared I am sure for the proverbial ARC Mk l, Mk ll etc upgrades but honestly right now, this is as...
AR ref2 mk1 or ref 3
I own the Ref 3 and prior to that the Ref2 Mk ll. The former was a super preamp however IMO the Ref3 is in a league of its own. Simply put, it is the best preamp I have ever owned.
emmlabs cdsd and dcc2 straight into wall or hydra
Although I don't own the Hydra, I do own the CDSD SE and DAC6e SE. I do own Jim Weil's Line Stage from http://www.soundapplication.com and do plug both components into it which then plugs into a dedicated AC wall outlet. Sonically, my impression i...
Any thoughts on Krell
"I'm a big fan of their class A audio amps, but, don't think their integrateds and home theatre gear are worthy of the name. Seems a bit misleading to me. Go figure."That is because Dan D'Agostino has always been associated with power amps first a...
Any thoughts on Krell
ChrislaThe Meitner upgrade "IS" simply amazing and like you I have owned many ARC components, most recently the Ref 2 MK ll to the Ref 3. I have also owned literally every bit of Krell gear over the years until I went all tube. My favorites were t...

"“It does not get better than this” do not really make any justice until there is an A-B test, right? After all, isn’t this Audiophile hobby all about challenge? Why do you own EMM Labs? Why don’t you have Zanden, dCS, Goldmund or Esoteric separat...

Alex Stop feeling so darn paranoid. If you were to conduct Aplhifi in the manner that all other reputeable manufactureres did then perhaps you would garner some degree of respect from we audiophiles. In your e-mail correspondance to me it was your...

AlexYou need to grow up and stop feeling so darn paranoid. If you were to conduct your business in the manner that all other reputeable manufacturers do then perhaps you would garner some degree of respect from the audiophile community. In your co...

It is unfortunate that you feel that way. I am a very happy audiophile with over 33 years in this hobby. I feel that I can therefore make observations of what I own and what I have heard. I am NOT in the employ of Ed Meitner or any other manufatur...

AlexI can say that Ed Meitner takes the high road and doesn't lurk in the bowels of audiogon posts looking to sniff out followers of Aplhifi to hawk his wares. As always I reply to you"shame on you"
