The best speaker you ever heard? "My Wilson Alexandria's with Audioquest Everest and Sky interconnects driven by SH-833 Monoblocks and my 27 watt Ongaku amp, 20 pounds of silver baby. May upgrade the cables though."I do agree about the X-2's. It is the best speaker I have ever ow...
Wilson Sophia 2 or Focal Electra 1037 be? McrheistI responded to your comments in the X-2 thread. In case you don't see it I will comment here.First off, your dealer is a jerk because if he isn't smart he will lose you as a customer and perhaps could even jeopardize his Wilson dealership ...
Wilson Alexandria X2s in small room It is very rare for a driver to blow. Usually the resistor will blow before the driver.Have you looked at the resistor panel to see if that is the problem. All too often I see posts here where people claim that they have blown a driver and instead...
Wilson Alexandria X2s in small room BTW, this IMO was not an argument only a meeting of the minds.
Wilson Alexandria X2s in small room I do agree with you with respect to front porting and bass energy (not soundstage as I had written).I had posted my response 3 different times before the mods let it through that I was leaving my house and thought I would try to post my thoughts o...

Lamm ML2 - ML2.1 I own and love the ML 2.1's. IMO and for "my" ears it is the best amp I have ever owned and I have owned many top end amps.At 18 wpc, they provide plenty of headroom to drive my Wilson X-2's. I doubt if I will ever buy another amp.
Audio Research Ref 3 Opinions "I humbly disagree with Oneobgyn regarding tube rolling with the Ref 3."This is what makes this hobby so much fun. One mans passion is another man's poison. I love the Ref3 just the way it is but perhaps next go around in tubes I will take you up ...
Audio Research Ref 3 Opinions Only the very earliest Ref 3's did not have bypass caps and were added later by ARC at N/C if the unit was returned to them. All Ref 3's now have by-pass capsAs for tubes my strongest recommendation is that tube rollling is completely unnecessary ...
In What Order Do You Turn On/Off Gear Separates ? Very simpleFirst off...always mute and/or turn down the gain control on your preampAfter that the golden rule which is etched in stone..."amps last on and first off" Anything in between doesn't matter
ARC LS 25 Mk 11 Bypass "If all we want is to route a pair of inputs directly to the outputs, can't this be done through the use of one toggle switch?"you could do this yourself with a simple A/B switch and forget about a theater through pass input |
