Can a McIntosh MC7205 handle Polk Audio RTi A9’s?
You can bi-amp also, just have an extra rail left over. 120 for Bass might be a little light. Could also add a passive pre to adjust, the highs via RCA, XLR, IC. It's a Mac, those numbers are VERY conservative... 120 @ 8, for the lows, 120 @ 8 for...
Are cables really worth their high price because of their geometry?
OP shielding can really mess up the sound if your not careful.I have a less is best type system. PC, RCAs, XLRs and speaker IC, can ALL reduce RFI EFI  with a weave, so it doesn't throw a blanket on the SQ..The quality of the material and differen...

OP, I admire your honesty. My old Journeyman was from, New Orleans’I heard you on the video, it brought back a lot of memories of me and him crawdaddin’. We would come home with a 5 gallon bucket of water bugs, another of catfish, and another of a...

Ok OP MC asked if everything was plugged into one outlet? Is it?I see the TV and a few other things are on the same circuit. Plug nothing into the stereo outlet being used BUT the stereo. No TV, no cable box, nothing.  Plug in the source (TT ?) vi...

b4icu281 posts07-19-2020 10:35pmNO !!!The speaker cable industry, unfortunately, has no knowledge about the product they make. As so, they invented as many "Urban Legends" to Differentiate their product over others, or penetrate the market if new....
stereo setup for newbie
Well newbie, it's a great sport.. LOL stick around and you'll see what I mean. I think you need a couple of part too.  You need a preamp, or an integrated amp. (preamp and amp in the same chassis). Your gonna need a source, CD, turntable, stream, ...

Help connecting a receiver to my McIntosh MX136 preamp
External, is a loop for your Marantz, not any of the sources. The source(s) all of them, will stay hooked to the Marantz, you use the "External" on the Mac and they will play through the Mac.SQ, use the Mac, just a much better preamp for music.....

I watched the You Tube video.. I got to admit, the two different socks on the guy in the video, did catch my eye. But the two speakers up against the wall, 4-6 feet apart, and the painters tape on the PC really gave it away. Sounded better? OK... ...
Help connecting a receiver to my McIntosh MX136 preamp
You'll want to use the "External" on the Mac, and that will give you control of the 4K on the Marantz.  You can still use the stereo on the Mac ( which is hard to beat) and have all the goodies of the Marantz.. Most folks would leave the Mac out, ...
Recapping Krell KSA 250
I'd be real careful with the Variac on a SS. Someone else can chime in, BUT most SS stuff is a little picky about low voltage. I've had KSA 100 MK2 and KSA 250, both were wonderful, units. Both were recapped at about the 25-30 year mark. The guy was...
