Anti skate. I think something's wrong
I have a Graham 2.2T. I agree with the posts by Almarg on how to adjust AS. It may help to first verify with no AS and no tracking force applied that the arm is not being forced to the outside by anything such as a twisted tone arm wire or connect...
Pass Labs X-1, X2.5 preamp volume increments.
Having owned the PASS Ono, the Aleph P, the X2.5 and the the X1, I tend to agree that the volume change increments are greater that I would prefer. I am still using the Aleph 0s and wish I had taken up Nelson's offer to lower its sensitivity, whic...
Is there advantage to balanced phono-preamp
I use and recommend the Ayre P-5xe mp phono preamp. Its not worth it unless your whole chain is balanced. Moon-audio & Grover Huffman can  make custom cables for mini din to xlr. You can download the manual for the Ayre  and see schematics for...
Advice for a new Oracle Delphi Owner
From your response I would say you have the older bearing. The barrel of the newer bearing in in 2 pieces separated by an o-ring.
Advice for a new Oracle Delphi Owner
I replaced the original mat on my Mk I Delphi with a mat like the one on the Goldmund many years ago. The sound was better IMHO, but it was a heavier mat,  for which I was able to correct the suspension by changing the springs.  I now have a Mk V ...
Advice for a new Oracle Delphi Owner
You will destroy the belt if you don't turn the motor off at a change.Look at the Oracle-audio.com site for instructions- the later instructions (Mk IV and up ) are better (just ignore the MVSS part). The Mk III can be updated to later versions wh...
Suspensions on turntable...really effective?
See if you can find a used Oracle Delphi.
Treating Floor in New Construction - Reducing Footfall and Vibration
I followed a recomendation to create a floating sub-floor with a layer of roofing felt over the normal plywood floor, then with a layer of 3/4 plywood screwed into the flooring  (not the joists). I then used a quality pad with Berber carpet..
Theta DS Pro Gen V - can you tell me about it?
I still have a Theta DS Pro Gen Va. I used a Muse model nine S as transport with an AES cable. The Muse by itself was nearly comparable. With a good transport it is hard to beat for redbook. YMMVThe Gen Va will decode wav 24/96 (at 20 bits , which...
Anti-skate setting on Graham 2.2
I have a Graham 2.2Start with it set at the mark corresponding to the tracking force as Graham suggests. If you can clearly see the cantilever with a good flashlight head-on, set anti-skate so that the cantilever does not move L/R when lowered in a...
Oppo BDP-105D mods
You should at least call Ric Schultz at EVS.I am pleased with the output board mod he did for me, and he has a range of options for solid state mods at reasonable prices. If you really want a tube output, then of course Modwright is the big option.
New speaker technology vs. Old speaker tech???
IMHO good engineering, materials and execution trump new technology, particularly in speakers,
Oracle Delphi Mk V suspension height
Those not familiar with the Perfectionist Engineering polymer bearing are probably puzzled I did not find huge differences in my old Delphi I/II and the Delphi V. Unfortunately this guy suddenly disappeared and the supply of polymer parts was very...
Why so few balanced phono inputs?
2nd the response from Stringreen. The Ayre P-5xe mp manual shows the possible wiring for both rca and xlr cables.I am using the shortest length cable for me system, custom made by moon-audio.com.
Oracle Delphi Mk V suspension height
Rec'd a response yesterday from Oracle. My setup is OK. The 1mm free play of the motor shaft is normal. The Torlan thrust plate for MK VI can be used in the Mk V bearing.
