Attn Vinyl lovers - what CD Player do you use? EMM XDS 1 V.2. Replaced a spectacular and one of kind VSE modified Sony 5400 (balanced output stage and Uber Clock). Just starting to come to terms with the EMM unit, but on first impressions, gorgeous! Detailed, big rich tonality, dynamic. Piano ...
Original VPI Aries vs VPI classic 3 String, what size Bear Paws and do they attach or does the table just rest on them? Do you rest them on a cup of some kind or directly on the table?
Original VPI Aries vs VPI classic 3 Still working with my original Aries 1, albeit heavily modified. Classic platter (I ABed all the prior platters with it, and its my favorite by far), a Rim Drive, Outer Weight, Center Weight, Classic Feet, XLR inputs and 3D Arms. Pretty darn good ...
New VPI 3D Arm Does it ever. I have a Kleos mono too, but the Atlas is very addictive. Been listening to the Cassandra Wilson Miles vinyl issue that Blue Note just release. Holy s&$?!I have the larger counterweights that don't take the counterintuitive. They...
New VPI 3D Arm Sitting listening to Sonny Rollins with the Kleos Mono mounted in a 3D arm installed on a very "upgraded" Aries I. I'm clearly a VPI junky. But ahhh this sounds so good ...... So slag away....I'm good.
New VPI 3D Arm I have Kleos Mono and Stereo cartridges in addition to the Atlas. The Kleos is wonderful but the Atlas has much more detail and dynamic. The 3D arm is very smooth and resonant free and tracks better than the standard JMW arm.
New VPI 3D Arm Dynamics and detail. That's where I hear a substantial difference between my Stereo Kleos and the Atlas. I absolutely love it. Was playing a six eye Kind of Blue using it the other night. Jaw dropping good. Is it worth the cost... I think so.
New VPI 3D Arm Just installed a pair of these arms on my venerable Aries I for mono Kleos and an Atlas respectively. Initial observations: rock solid tracking; substantially increased soundstage and depth; smooth, liquid sound but very dynamic when present in th...
Audio Desk Record Cleaner I've user Nerl and Acquafina and haven't noticed any difference and I've been topping off with just straight Acquafina. Love this machine. My gorgeous Loricraft is very neglected now. M
Original VPI Aries vs VPI classic 3 I have an Aries I since 1997, that is now fitted with Classic feet, the SDS, the Classic platter (in comparison with the Supper Platter I used to have on it, I thought the Classic platter had much better dynamics), the outer ring, the JMW 10.5i ar...
Jeff Rowland Preamps Had the Synergy IIi for years and now the Criterion. Huge jump up in all the good stuff
Rowlands I've been using Rowland for my preamp and phono stages for 8 years now. A Synergy IIi and a Cadence phonostage. The last two years I have been upticking the system and now have the Classe Cam 600's, the new B & W 802 Diamonds and a heavily modi...
45rpm pressing of Fleetwood Mac Rumours I have both the original and the Steve Hoffman pressings and actually listened to both versions yesterday, back to back. The Hoffman pressing has a more robust bass and perhaps a bit more seperation bewtween the musical elements. The original pres...
B&W 802 Diamond Stands Update on the B&w Diamond 802s:Well they are up on the Sound Anchor stands. My house is old and the music room floor is pretty dished (like a bowl) so leveling and ensuring that speakers were perpendicular to the floor was a trial. A lot of wo...
B&W 802 Diamond Stands Oh, and I have a pair of Classe CT-M600s on the way to replace the CAM-350s. Katy bar that door :) |
