Cryo treated wires? I didn't comment on your integrity, just your reasoning. You know, I could (should!?) buy something cryo'd, but I still couldn't make any conclusions about how cryo affected what I just bought. I would still know what I know now. And yes, I have r...
Hum Issues - Rega P-25 w/ Grado Reference Platnum There was a Stereophile from way back when that contained an article about covering (part) of the plinth with adhesive mu-metal. It worked, but I don't know whether there was any stubborn residue left by the adhesive. Maybe a Stereophile, Agon, AA...
Cryo treated wires? Garfish - Rainchild wants to know what cryo does. I do not have cables that differ only in cryoness, so I can't comment. I have as much knowledge of its effects as you do. I would be surprised if there was not a difference under certain to many ci...
Long IC/Short Speaker or Short IC/ Long Speaker This was quite a topic some threads ago. You may find it interesting if you can catch the thread before it falls in to the abyss. Good luck
Cryo treated wires? "though I have a funny feeling you have made your mind up already.""I would be surprised if cryo did nothing" is the only opinion I gave about the sonic effects of cryo. I apologize if my points were not clear.
Cryo treated wires? Craig - why do you attribute (part) the sonic difference between old 6awg and 10 awg wire from Virtual Dynamics to cryogeneics? "The VD on-line literature says the cryo treated products allow one to see "deeper into the music". I think VD just rea...
Is there a cd player that sounds close to an LP? A Cary 303 couldn't be blamed for system brightness, and I doubt, relative to a TT, that it would be bright in a decent system. Its hard to make all the sources happy, but the Cary's tonal balance might work out. Good luck.PS- Even the ol' CD12 do...
Preamp suggestions 1200$ used Like Sugarbrie, the obvious contender, especially for a novice, is Rogue. You could buy a used one here and resell it without loss if you did not care for it. Whatever you pick, be prepared a dramatic improvement. Have fun
ever sat down and mapped out your DREAM system? I mapped it in V. Systems, but deleted it, so now it only exists in my living room. I focus on tonal balance(=impact across the spectrum?) and tone. Resolution and dynamics are nice, but currently, I don't have the resources or will to care about ...
Have you ever had this problem with a Rega P-25? That's common. It will work in to where it goes down by itself.
What cables would you recommend? "I'm going to take a wild guess and assume your goal is to improve the sonics of your system."Take the bucket off your head.Glad you remember my moniker,
What cables would you recommend? I don't what your goals are, but I'd wait to see how the preamp affects the sound before comtemplating cables. As a less mature addition, I prefer a more detailed oriented, less colorful IC between the CDP and a tube Pre.
A to D to SACD to A: A Natural Progression? You could chunk the jewel boxes and just store the discs in those case-logic type books.
How much to spend on analog to get a decent sytem? Yeah, I'd say th P25 is the lowest of what Could be comparable to those CDPs, while the Spacedeck is better than those CDPs.-also coming from a 0101 world. I would like to hear from an analog-is-life-itself jackass, though. (That might stop them).
Classe owners...Please help with speaker selection Hales and B&W. |
