Definitely deal with someone who has a decent return policy. I love how it sounds but at its price imake sure it is something you can listen to then decide if you want to keep it. I have had people over that preferred the sound of the RME I had i...

No. It’s 15 months old.   Has the original EH in there.   I’m thinking of getting a pair of JJ 6922.  They sounded great in my CJ preamp and don’t break the bank.     I will probably get them from tube depot as a matched pair / matched triodes it...

Hearing and perception is so subjective. I think TMR has an open DAC 1 Reference .   They are great to deal with , sometimes they will list something that’s on clearance , or demo units on eBay and it’s less money than through the website I bough...

The one he reviewed was the original DAC 1.    The DAC 1 Reference is the current model.    https://parttimeaudiophile.com/2023/03/12/lab12-dac1-review/?amp
Streamer with variable digital output
As far as I am aware, all Bluesound products can control the volume in the digital domain.      That is the main reason I upgraded to an Aurender.  I wanted to avoid but truncation,  no volume , nothing to worry about.
Upgrading Speakers
Could be your last speaker.  I'm listening to a 20 something year old pair of Concerto and they still sound pretty good My Dad just picked up a pair of Electa Amator III.   Incredible speaker.   The fit and finish is off the chart.   The sound ??...

Sorry to hear that.   Stories like yours are why I only buy and sell locally , cash .
What do/did you do for a living?
I repair and install medical instruments, microscopes and diagnostic stuff.     My obsession started around 15 when I saved up all my paper route money and bought a Sansui AU 9900 locally.  Out of the WantAdvertizer weekly . Then I picked up a p...
They know we will pay anything they can think of
Valid question... sometimes in this hobby you fork out $$$ and actually get something world class.  Other times you have buyers remorse early on and realize you paid a lot for something that's no so great.   Sometimes something comes along that I...
I saw the back of an integrated and it depressed me.
I'm sure the Technics is great , but you are seeing less and less legacy inputs.  It is kind of unusual that it only has two RCA inputs.    Not all amps are void of inputs. The rear panel of my new Cyrus amp has it all !   And it sounds good to...

I like DH Labs , sure they have some $$$ cables but most of their stuff is within reach of blue collar guys.    I also have the Air Matrix Cryo .  I needed a 1.5 m pair and they had a special.   I had to pull the trigger and try them.  They are e...

I agree try both outputs.   My last DAC worked asynchronously internally with all inputs. The DAC that replaced it uses the source clock with SPDIF like most DACs and works asynchronously with USB , relying on the DAC's internal clock. I am going...

I am currently using a Mirage USB and it sounds great into my LAB 12 DAC.   I also have a D750 coax by DH Labs and it also is a good cable.   Commits no sins.   Excellent quality.    I am not convinced that USB is better with MY DAC because I thi...

You will love the Aurender N200   It is an awesome machine.
Velodyne DD15 - worth repairing the plate amp?
I just picked up an Earthquake MiniMe DSP P12,  at $640 ($1300msrp) it was a great value and perfect for movies and non critical music , but my brother's HGS 15 walks all over it.   Those big Velodyne have great pitch definition and really dig de...
