Streamer, no DAC please? I would look at Innuos and Auralic in your price range. Eversolo support is non existent. It's decent hardware with a decent interface but if one of their firmware updates has a bug don't expect a fix. Been waiting 6 months for USB out to wor...
Are REL the most Musical Subs? My Dad has a single S/510 and it's a great sub. Two in stereo would be great, they are quite a bit larger but if you have the space... it's about 16x 16 x18 deep
Why are DAC's so much more expensive than transports? Good question , prices are out of control. Answer ? Because they can.
BEST CD TRANSPORT I didn't want a slot loader and didn't have the space for a top loader and the Teac sounds great. Not worried about the tray at all. It's driven by a rubber band, that is usually what fails when it won't eject.
What's the weakest link in my stereo set up? I live in a townhome, so limited on space. I agree best bang for buck would be stylus / cart.
Are Headphones Fit for Serious Music Listening? Yes,I know, but the HP3 are actually pretty decent sounding... I'm sure if I listened to phones more i would have bought Audize or Focal. I've honestly thought about selling them a few times but never did.
Are EL34 based amps more musical than KT series based ? Or it's purely a matter of design? That's another reason I like those QS. Sometimes I'm looking for a different presentation and will re tube with a 6l6. My last quad was 6l6, was just missing the el34 tone a little
Are EL34 based amps more musical than KT series based ? Or it's purely a matter of design? That's probably why I kept my Quicksilver Mid Monos. They ship with EL34 but can take any EL34 or 6L6 variant. I've used KT 66,77,88 but I lean more toward the EL34 so I will put them in my system occasionally. I have a 300b too and prefer ...
Are Headphones Fit for Serious Music Listening? I have a pair of Klipsch HP3 and a Quicksilver Headphone Amp. I haven't really used them since I set up a bedroom system. They are a good sounding combo but it's not the same as speakers . I bought the pair when I was in the middle of a div...
I often notice that people who have open reel decks and/or tube equipment are nicest If you don't have a good resource for info , tubes and RTRs can be challenging. I always try to give good advice/ info when possible.
I often notice that people who have open reel decks and/or tube equipment are nicest I think those folks like to share their knowledge and be good ambassadors of the hobby.
R2R next? Don't like ESS Nothing worse than sibilance. Makes me want to turn it off. My amp sounds sweet , has great detail and has great bass . Not thin sounding at all , great mid bass . I sold my RME DAC (akm), not that it wasn't a very good DAC it was, but the i...
R2R next? Don't like ESS My Integrated Amp has the ESS9038 chip and digital sources sound great through it. Firm believer that it is the implementation of the DAC chip, but more importantly the analog stage.
Beware: Magnum Dynalab are not "doing repairs, upgrades or service right now"!! That's too bad because their service used to be excellent. I had an MD 90 and sent it in for repair. I upgrade to a MD102 for short money. And that was when they were doing repairs I think it's just because they are consolidating and moving. ...
Confused about adapter for RCA to BNC If you order one they are available as BNC to RCA or RCA to BNC. If the source is RCA and the DAC is BNC you want a RCA to BNC. It has to do with the grounding I believe. |
