Personal amp evolution
My first amp was an integrated, Sansui AU9900Then I added a Carver M1.5t Followed by a pair of B&K M200 SonataChanged my speakers and subsequently changed the amp out to a VTL Stereo 50/50... Great sounding amp when it worked. Picked up a B&am...
Survey-What is your most used source?
Blu Ray player.....I use it all the time to stream Pandora, spin CD's , play .WAV files, Netflix.... Technically it's my NAD M51 DAC because it plays all sources except tuner...... Cable, Blu Ray, CD, NAS, all play through it....
It was 20 years ago today. . What was your system?

DAC with HDMI Input
The NAD M51 DAC has HDMI inputs. It sounds great when playing a BluRay concert video or audio disc. It doesn't do DSD but I don't think I could go back after having a DAC with HDMI inputs. With the legacy toslink and coax plus USB there's plenty o...
Balanced power amp and subwoofer connection.
I would just drive it via the preamp........
McCormack RLD-1 v. Mcintosh C2200
I had a RLD 1 , it was nice but have since upgraded to a Conrad Johnson Classic 2 SE. No remote but awesome sound......I thought it sounded better than the C200 for what it's worth
Your first amp?
My first real component was a Sansui AU9900 integrated amp. I eventually used it's pre-outs to drive my first basic amp, a Carver M1.5t....
DAC Recommendation around 2.5K
I've had my M51 about a month and love it. I am putting all of my CDs on a hard drive so I can play them through my Blu Ray player. It sounds great, I also have some hi rez files on the drive that sound incredible.....
What's in your CDP tonight? the minority report
Actually I'm listening (and watching) to Joe Bonamassa Live From The Beacon on Blu Ray....
New Sony Hi Res Coming This Fall

1st time buyer: Paradigm vs Revel vs B&W vs ?
Let your ears be the judge.....I have owned bookshelf speakers from Paradigm ,B&W, PSB,KEF and enjoyed them all. My current speaker is the Revel M106. I listened to them for about five minutes and knew they were just right for me. Great little...

WYRED4SOUND STP-SE IN HOUSE UPGRADES
I couldn't justify a $2k upgrade on a $2k component. Don't get me wrong, I had no problem paying the extra money when I bought my c-j preamp in SE trim. The $500 for Vishays and Teflon caps were well worth it, it sounds great. But if c-j came out ...
Velodyne only sub with remote volume control?
I think there are others but I use a Velodyne SMS=1 with my sub. Not only does it EQ the sub for the room but it works great if you want to experiment with crossover slopes. All via remote including remote volume, phase, polarity, slope.etc You ca...
