The Lamm L2 is solid state. It is the power supply that is tube regulated.
Anyone heard Zu Druid speakers?
I heard the Druids last week at my local dealer. They sounded ok but I felt the tweeter seemed to draw attention to itself (in a big way). I was expecting a lot better given the rave reviews. They are sensitive so perhaps the amp being used was not...
Bitstream DAC won't lock onto CEC transport
Did you call John Wright? He may be able to help.BTW you have a fantastic dac. Hope you find the problem.
Is a dedicated transport justified?
Buy a Theta Data II transport for $400 on the 'gon. It will be the best $400 you will ever spend.I have always heard differences between transports. This one is unbeleviable for what you pay.
Mint Condition, Doesn't Anyone Know What It Means
I have a customer who refers to cars he is buying or selling as "triple mint". I guess that means they are three times better than mint. Or mint, mint, mint. Really, its mint. Honest. I kid you not. Cracks me up.

Recommendation - Rotel vs. Audiolab
I have a 14 year old Audiolab 8000A that has worked flawlessly. It's not my main amp anymore but I won't part with it. They are very well built and sound great for what you pay. I think you will do fine with either.
best 5-20K speakers for high-end tube amp?
You may want to consider Coincident's Total Victory for your application. They are an easy load for tubes. And they would be able to fill a listenting room your size with as little as 15 watts.

Joule vzn 80 or 100 for merlins?
Your room size may also be a consideration. Given the fact that many Merlin owners use the 60 watt Berning to drive their speakers would suggest that for most people, this power would be sufficient. Also, the difference between a 80 watt amp and a ...
