Is Hype About Forthcoming NC400 Based Amps Worthy The NC400 modules are only available to individuals, the NC1200 modules are used in some soon-to-be released commercial amps.I assembled a pair of NC400 amps for less than $2000 and they out-perform any other amp I have heard in my system. For tha...
Hypex Ncore NC400 Thanks, I can't wait!I use TWL 7+ power cords with the NC400s and have sold my Conrad-Johnson LP275M amps and have Parasound JC-1s for sale. This 3.5" round NC400 board (with the SMPS) can drive my 81dB MBLs as I have never heard before and that is...
Hypex Ncore NC400 Dan, since the NC1200s will be in such a better "environment", a comparison would be inconclusive. Besides, I am sure that I will like the new amp better. ;^)Simon, they do use the SMPS1200. I think that the site typo occurred because there are 2 ...
Hypex Ncore NC400 I have ordered 2 Veritas monoblocks from Merrill Audio. I expect to receive them by the end of October and will be able to directly compare them to the NC400s I assembled. It's hard to imagine a better amplifier than the NC400s, IMO, but the atten...
Hypex Ncore NC400 Thanks, I have been following that thread closely for a while now.Problem is solved as I am buying a pair of amps using the NC1200 modules. Can't wait!
Hypex Ncore NC400 OP here. At the other end of the efficiency range, I have 81dB speakers and, while there is plenty of power, I can't help but wonder what bridged amps would do.I assembled the mono amps with one SMPS/NC400 in each stereo case so there is provision...
Bi-amping MBL 101's - combining tube & ss Just a note that I use Conrad-Johnson LP275M tube amplifiers with mbl 101E MK2s and it is mesmerizing!I also briefly bi-amped with Parasound JC-1s for the woofers and the CJs for the melons. Good luck!
amps for MBL 121's, help please @Dob...Hi, would you mind posting some links to comparisons between the Spectron and JC-1, not being snarky just missed this in my research.Thanks.
amps for MBL 121's, help please Since the 121s are about 82 dB efficiency and need current, I do not think that there is competition for the JC-1s. 400w@8ohms, 800w@4ohms, 130 amps. The 121s are great though, otherwise get other speakers that give more lower-powered amp choices....
amps for MBL 121's, help please I used 8011AM amps with my 121s and thought them under-powered for those speakers. Switched to Parasound JC1s and it is much better, sound quality and power, IMO. Only $7000 for the amps, too!Good luck with your search... |
