What's new with power conditioning? The Sound Application products are all conditioners, not regenerators ;--).
What's new with power conditioning? There aren't a lot of regenerators on the market (and some that say they are, aren't, like the Panamax) But if you just want to try one on the cheap, I'd recommend the Monarchy Audio unit. It's $750 msrp and 100 watts max. so only really useful on...
What's new with power conditioning? Match, I think they're around $2500 msrp +/-
What's new with power conditioning? Soundlogic, I refer you to these two threads for comments (mine and others, particularly Zaiksman's) comparing the EP to the PPP:http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?aamps&1170713177&openfrom&1&4#1http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-b...
What's new with power conditioning? Exactpower EP-15A. I'd stay away from PS Audio's new Premier. It's a me-too product, not as good as Exactpower IMO.
Geometry in audio. I think Nagra makes a pyramid-shaped DAC.
Anyone else regenerating A/C? Ckorody, the EP is a power regenerator, the SP is a balanced power unit. All is made clear on their website:www.exactpower.com.
Current recordings on vinyl? Hdm, I'm honestly not sure about Dylan, but I know Neil Young in his recent work has done both analog and digital masters Ithe analogs being used for the vinyl releases (he's quite anti-digital, and, owns his own recording facilities.)But as Jaybo...
Current recordings on vinyl? You're right about performances on vinyl which were initally recorded digitally. Which BTW includes all the Telarc LPs which were recorded (mastered) with a Soundstream digital tape recorder before the introduction of CDs!Many artists (still ;--) ...
Crank it up just once Jameswei nailed it! All audiophiles will pretty much agree about "the point where it stops sounding good."! That's the best guide you have..
Blind Shoot-out in San Diego -- 5 CD Players What is the brand/model of the power regenerator that was used?
MIT's not good for tube components? Unclejeff, if you go back to the Purist website and download the catalog in pdf format, it is quite detailed and shows everything they make including specs and construction diagrams.I read that the problem with network cables and tube passive line...
HDCD compatible? David, you are very right on all points. There are a few high quality units available, particularly from Mark Levinson (who BTW make their own HDCD decoding chips with permission). Then there's Wadia DACs and players which don't specifically decod...
HDCD compatible? It should be mentioned that there are new recordings continually being released in HDCD. One reason is that many artists are not crazy about digital to begin with, and want the very best (Redbook playable) rendering of their performances. And I'm g...
HDCD compatible? HDCD recordings do not involve an additional layer, otherwise standard Redbook transports couldn't play them (which they can.) If a DAC, however, doesn't have the HDCD decoding chip, it just throws the extra HDCD information away and decodes it as... |
