wire shielding The thing about silk, is it will hold a static charge, especially if you like stroking your ICs on your bearskin rug :~))
room setup OK. Let's see. A 32" TV you say? (diagonal?) And let's say the front face is represented by a 32" dia. disk. 32" is 2.6 feet. If you let that dimension be the length of the half wave it will reflect, then the full wave dimension is 5.2 feet. If yo...
I finally bought a record cleaning machine $ Rushton and Albert: If you will refer back to my post (the forth one down) you'll notice I said the same thing as regards RCF residue (not that it doesn't bear repeating, of course.) I strongly urge all of you, if you haven't done so already, to r...
I finally bought a record cleaning machine $ Check out Justin_time post currently on the forum right now:http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?eanlg&1126313662&read&3&zzlJustin_time&&He's a real chemistry guru -- and, based on what he said (you should read it for yo...
CD player damaged by power line in I thought VPI had a motor speed control unit, am I mistaken?
whats the biggest mistake you made? . . . . .to keep reading the postings on this thread!
Speakercable and powercord that thightens bass. Agree w/ Geek. I put an Aural Thrills Silver 10 AWG PC on my Depth Subwoofer, and it mad a big difference over the stock PC. I can't say about speaker cable, but the shorter the better for good bass.
Small circulating fan to cool amps Guess I read too fast. What kind of tube amps are they. I want to look at how the tubes are arranged.
whats the biggest mistake you made? I gave away a Mitchell Cotter step up transformer abgout 17 years ago. Who knew?!
Isolation fo SOTA TT? Yes, but put the sorbogel in place of the rubber feet, and put the cones under the slab.
Krell SACD Standard problem Sounds like the laser isn't tracking properly which could be (most likely, but not exclusively) due to:1.) the lens is dirty, unlikely, but if you can get to it, clean with a q-tip just barely dampened with alcohol, or2.) the transport rails (that...
tall solid speaker stands? Contact Sound Anchor. The'll do anything you want and reasonably. Or go to their website, they may have something "off the shelf" that will work for you.www.soundanchor.com.
Small circulating fan to cool amps Frankm1, you didn't say if your amps are tube or ss, but I was thinking that if space is tight, you could buy some of those really little computer fans (they're only about 1.5 in square) that they put right on the printed circuit boards over IC ch...
Small circulating fan to cool amps A cool (no pun intended) way to do it if you have a couple inches under your amp shelf, is to cut a couple of four inch holes (or whatever the fan dia. is) in the amp shelf itself, and mount the fans to the bottom of the shelf blowing up at the am...
This might be a stupid question,,but If you mean you are using a standard analog IC to make the digital connection between your CD transport and your DAC, yes, a digital cable will make an improvement. Digital cables, among other things, are designed with 75ohm impedance, which is me... |
