What's the music at the start of Sean Hanitys show
I bought this on Saturday and have listened to it several times already. This really rocks! Thanks for the help.
What's the music at the start of Sean Hanitys show
Sugarbrie, Thank you for the quick response. I try to tune in for the beginning of the show just to get a few seconds of the music. I love it but up till now no one has been able to tell me what I was hearing. I'll be getting it tomorrow, at least...
Stereo Vs. Mono
Albert is as usual "correct." One of the problems with early stereo recordings was that people didn't know how to do them. The engineers had years of experience with mono and it showed in the recording. Often a stereo mix was done almost as an aft...
Going SACD or analog?
I would tend to agree with Albert. I have a Sony SCD 777es and a Sota STar Sapphire. With arm and cartridge the cost is virtually identical. I enjoy SACD as it is much better than redbook CDs, but the sound of vinyl is far superior. I have not exp...
Best CD AND SACD Player under 1000
I bought my SCD 777es as a dealer demo and paid $1000. It seems like the used price for these should be around that range by now. You did not mention, or I missed it, but are you willing to buy used gear? There should be some real deals for you.
Cable vs. Electronics: biggest bang for the buck
Does this mean we're done with these deeply profound discussions of the relative value of cable? Am I on the right thread?
Cable vs. Electronics: biggest bang for the buck
How much of who Jung was do you attribute to the prevelence of occult activity taking place around him? As you know the Nazi party was more of a religious movement than a political movement. I have come to believe that the fear of Socialism and Co...
Cable vs. Electronics: biggest bang for the buck
It strikes me as somewhat interesting that Jung has so many fans here, inasmuch as he was a Nazi sympathizer and sometimes fan. So much for a solid philosophical base!
What do you think Audiogon does right? or wrong?
The only complaints I have very had about AudiogoN were when I didn't know my way around it. I am barely computer literate (some might argue that I am barely literate) but I find it very easy to get around here now.The forums are great. I follow m...
Vinyl and slurring S'es
It sounds like a set-up issue. I'm in the process of moving or I would be able to tell you what Robert Harley and/or Laura Dearborn have to say about this. I think it is an alignment or overhang issue, but if you can, go to Barnes and Noble and se...
Cable vs. Electronics: biggest bang for the buck
Psychicanimal, if there is little or nothing to the construction of these $7000 cables can you make a few pairs for me? I will pay you $1000 per pair for every one that sounds as good as the cable I currently have, which by the way is not as good ...
Latest Peter Gabriel
Sean, did she only buy two tickets??? Chicago isn't that far from here.
I don't understand Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue"
I have not read through all the responses, but there is also the issue of the sound Miles had on this LP. He was praised at the time for having a unique sound which upon further inspection turned out to be due to a tape speed issue. Before this di...
Cable vs. Electronics: biggest bang for the buck
I'm not sure what some of the above comments mean, but I did a review of Albert Porters Purist Dominus several months ago now. If I understand correctly some people don't think my system is of sufficient quality to hear subtle differences in cable...
What did you replace your DQ-10's with?
I just can't give up on "Dairy Queen." You have to love their consistancy.
