About Lugnut -- Patrick Malone
I was thinking about my friend Patrick and also about Barb today... Now I'm also reminded of Benjamin Patrick Campbell... how is the little feller?Barb, I look at the pictures you sent and remember the time I spent with Lugnut and with you, and I ...
Looking for an integrated tube amp USA or Europe
John - I used a Cary for about a month and decided then that I would never buy one. Talk about lifeless and boring! I'm trying to get a system together for my son, so there are no speakers, or anything else. I forgot about the Stingray, that's a g...
Kappa 9. Parasound HCA-3500 WILL NOT power them
It's not the amp. There is something wrong with the speakers. Even if the Kappas drop down to 1 ohm occasionally you should not be having these problems. Was something in the speakers damaged??? That's the place to look, not the amp...Oo.
What Makes a Good RIAA or Line Stage?
Hey Doug, what kind of car should I drive???Oo.
Whats on your turntable tonight?
I don't have all the Bonnie and Delanie, but I have a couple, and I think I have three LPs from It's a Beautiful Day. I listened to some of the B&D last year, and enjoyed it.I might have to give them a spin again today too...o
Whats on your turntable tonight?
Got a kick out of the Roland Kirk story as I was sitting here listening to Jethro Tull from the 20th anniversary LP. Mr Kirk was a big influence on a lot of people...:o
Sota Cosmos Series III vs IV?
The series four has a number of differences from the series three, and is ultimately a much more versitile turntable. One of the drawbacks for me with the series III was the lack of adjustability of the VTA on my TriPlanar arm. Kirk has cleared up ...
Jethro Tull
I haven't read the liner notes for Aqualung, since I am obviously not a fan of that LP/cd. Was Aqualung among the list of reissues? I have purchased a bunch, but not all of them. AAMOF I had some friends over to listen to music and we did a compar...
Jethro Tull
I am a big Jethro Tull fan, and have to say there seems to be a fair amount of misinformation being posted here. I understand some of it can be interpretation (i.e. Glen Cornick, and the occurance of his leaving), but others, such as why Ian Ander...
Most Effective Tweaks
What do you mean???
Boiling the hyperbole
I don't know that Lewis Lepnick frequents this site and who cares about a review of a product that has not been in production for about fifteen years, and there are people that prefer all kinds of colorations...Who cares...:o
2" maple shelf or 3" one:sound different?
The resonant frequency of the boards is the same, but a vibration will have to be stronger to get through a 3" than a 2" board.I have used stands with MDF shelves. It worked just okay, then I changed to 2" maple, there was an improvement, then I c...
How far should you be sitting from your speakers?
All of the theories are a starting point. There is no formula that takes into consideration all the nuances of your room, your system, and your ears. Find a good starting point and then go by ear.If you think you can do anything because you believ...
Hanging cables from ceiling
Suspending any cables above the floor will be an improvement. I'm not sure there is any purpose to hanging them from the ceiling, but the improvement will be based on what you use to suspend them.As far as consensus, this is audio, there is no con...
Are the Grammy's becoming irrelevant?
Rlwainwright we sure wouldn't want talent to be an issue. Some people are so stupid they sit and giggle at the television when anyone, no matter how stupid, insults the highest office in the country in spite of the fact that millions of people agr...
