Better Sounding Systems, Objectivists or Subjectivists?
the most distorted, garbled, piece of crap I have ever heard Adele on a good day?
Why Are People So Concerned About How Others Spend Their Money?
Springsteen just sold out for 500 million.  If he sold for 1 million, he'd be a fool.
Two of the most powerful words ever
I understand the concept of "what if" I don’t use it. Instead I ask "what are the factors" and develop a list. From the list a group of experiments are developed which will tell what the "Magnitude" of each factor is. Once you know the magnitude ...

Voting is still open for the 2021 Darwin Awards.
Dust on speaker cones.
Couple more options - air purifier with a HEPA filter (this is pretty good anyway for a number of issues), or  - get a new house specially designed to have zero airborne contaminants. I'd go for the first option, but I know the lengths some audi...
Cleaning tube pins
I use cotton ear buds - the things that are plastic sticks with some tightly woven cotton fibre on the ends. Never to be used in ones ears, incidentally. The IP alcohol I use is more like around 60%. Cleaning each pin gently and methodically is ...
Introspective of this forum: "Does the Audiophile Community Have a Promlem?" I Say yes!!!
A reasonable person would infer that the particular board described in the provided quote that was hidden from the outside world was one of the AudioScienceReview forums.  And that the narrative provided happened on this ASR forum. How am I going...
Better Sounding Systems, Objectivists or Subjectivists?
Some will demand an explanation of how something works before they are willing to try it, but, if it works (produces the desired results), no explanation is required for it to do so. Demand?  That's not nice, who likes demanding people?  I show...
Better Sounding Systems, Objectivists or Subjectivists?
@rudyb  Who says ’objectivists’ don’t listen?  Do you want names named?  That wouldn't be very nice.
More expensive = better?
All other things being equal, intuition would suggest that an amp costing $8,000 would be better than an amp that costs $5,000. Keep it simple.  Its not like choosing Coke or Pepsi you know.
Better Sounding Systems, Objectivists or Subjectivists?
@mikelavigne Try replacing the words "they" with "she/her", and "objectivist" with "women/woman", and recite your post to a friend who is a female. You might receive anything ranging from laughter to a smack. Generalities are perhaps something...
Better Sounding Systems, Objectivists or Subjectivists?
Never again assume that the "camps" to whom you refer are mutually exclusive. Such a characterization of "camps" could be worse I suppose, though at the moment I am at a loss to say just how. When these two camps retire to their listening rooms...
New 4K TV; how do I best stream audio through older integrated amp
This I didn’t know existed. Thankyou. See, sometimes its just little random bits of information that perhaps everyone else takes for granted but I didn’t know about. The TV has only RCA in, and HDMI which I used once or twice with a reasonably go...
How do you know when a stereo sounds good?
If your stereo sounds bad, it may have permanent damage should you have been playing anything by Adele. You won’t need to worry about it ever being able to sound better on account of the criminal negligence you have inflicted upon it and possibly...
Next best exponential DAC quality level?
@cindyment yeah, and I like how its called GARP...cool. Despite it involving fairly standard ideas (utility, indifference curves etc), it does have some issues including those mentioned in as few words as possible in the Wiki link. Whenever someo...
