Downside to "revealing" system?
I find that the better the system, the better older recordings and pressings sound. However, the issue is that in comparison to the great recordings, it's more obvious the not-so-good stuff sounds...not as good.
EAR MC-3 - Multiple inputs wired up at same time?
Actually, checking out the traf, I see there is no switching. I figured you were talking about crosstalk through the switch. I can't imagine you could connect more than one at a time to the unit.

Art Dudley didn't think so when listening to the MC-4.
House buying and the aspiring audipihile
Most wooden homes are not the best places for great hi-fi. Imagine a large stone room in a European mansion or castle. That's what I need. Natural reverberations! Might need some damping. Wall tapestries and an oversized sofa.
Whats on your turntable tonight?
@bkeske What mat are you using now? What's your platter made from?
Linn LP 12 hum not coming from Bryton phono stage.
There may be a problem with the cables. No idea what but they're possibly fakes. https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/power-supplies/342718-plese-help-krell-branded-cables-found-online.html

@bkeske I've been clamp free for... um, forever. Always found it deadened the music, especially, as you've noticed, air. And attack speed (rise time).

best way to connect audioengine b1 to my HK3490 receiver. Optical cable or RCA's
Optical digital is not voltage input/output dependent. In other words, it doesn't matter. Optical will maintain the digital data to the AE DAC.
Anybody have ant thoughts re using 2 Herbie's tube dampers on 1 tube?
Looks like we have another division of opinion! You can hear over-damping. It dries out the sound and dulls the music. Like everything in audio, it's mainly down to personal preference.
What speakers are these
They may be DIY. There seems to be forum activity around using the RAAL tweeter unit with large diameter woofers.
