Try some solid core 14 gauge Romex cable for the speakers. Change the interconnect if it's a cheapo one.

Agreed. The suspended ceiling and false plenum will act as a resonator and sound board. I use open joists and sheetrock in my space in a basement.

There comes a point when one’s vinyl source is simply better than digital. While I listen to both CD and streaming, my turntables sound far more musical and satisfying. Perhaps my digital source needs to be improved but I’ve yet to hear a digital ...

@reubent Yes. I know the Indigo Girls. My better half is a big fan so they play in the car. My favorite song of theirs is Everything in its Own Time on Shaming of the Sun.

Try disconnecting one of the negative terminals on the cartridge. Then try shorting the negatives together at the cartridge.
