Hooking up a sub to my Spectral dmc-10
If I recall correctly, there are different controls on the REL for the low-level inputs.
Whats on your turntable tonight?
June Christy ‎– Something Cool (Capitol Records 1954 10" mono)Sounds better than almost every other record made after 1970.
Trying to Help My Nephew With His First Venture Into High End Audio
I thought Fremer’s review of the Hagerman Trumpet was pretty tough. Basically it’s rolled off, lacking detail and colored with a warm glow! It would not be to my taste. Each to their own!
The Miller Carbon Story
Matter of fact both the black and cocobolo platters were clearly superior. ... Lead shot spinning really looks the treat. Every tiny little thing matters. ?
401 birch or slate?
@boxer12  Thanks! It will be interesting to try the slightly bigger and heavier PAC platter that's on order over the SMD one on it currently.PAC - 317mm +900gramsSMD - 304mm +420 grams

Totem Model 1 Speakers (4Ohm and 98db)That can't be right. More like 85dB.
401 birch or slate?
I have a virgin AG 401 flat strobe in a box and not sure what I want to do with it. Use it upstairs in a small plinth with a 9" arm for background music, or build another 12" and load it up with the good stuff. What type of plinth? Panzer, bamboo,...
401 birch or slate?
@dover Love hearing about your endeavors. The brass kit looks serious along with the price. Shaun D. at Peak HiFi told me the brass lends a warmer and more organic sound. I'm happy with the aluminium but would like to try the stainless steel.
401 birch or slate?
@tomic601 A man of your means and sonic acumen should truly consider a refurbished one.
401 birch or slate?
the 301 is more rube goldberg. So much so a family member threw one away thinking it was some old junk.
Rippling cones
@stereo5 Your Rega being lightweight is not the problem. My 40+ pound VPI Prime suffered from the same problem. Only a problem weighing down the springs!
Rippling cones
@noromance - have you tried either filter? quite the price difference!Only the KAB when I had a LP12. Don't use any now. Using springs instead.
Long hiatus from audio, getting back into it, speaker/room help please
Congrats on surviving all of that. First thought is the LRS might be too small in a fairly large room unless you listen closer to the speakers. Steve Guttenberg has a few videos on the LRS which may help.
