Best interconnects from preamp to amps, within budget As you've had good experience with AQ, why not try their better cables? You'll need the non-paired versions for your monos. Look at the Red River at around $250 for a 3m pair. Search for the best price.

What are songs where people or instruments sound closer to you? You're talking about soundstage depth. Late 50s and 60s jazz analog originals would be a good place to start.

Tekton Double Impact Review Looks like the OP is looking at the big Spendors. It's the front wall. Need to be out at least 18" or more from back walls because of the rear port
A rookie with 10K, seeking advise How many records? If starting out, I'd be inclined to stick with digital streaming. Spreading the cost over two sources plus vinyl media is not efficient.
Which wire for internal recabling my speakers? The Neotech 12 gauge solid core is fairly stiff and unwieldy. I'd stay at 14 or higher. Could be ok with 18awg for tweeters, 14 for midrange (because also works at 200hz) and 12awg for woofers?
Questionable Tweak Close your mouth when listening. Sound going up the eustachian tube gets into the ears.
Which wire for internal recabling my speakers? Agree with grannyring on the Neotech. I use it and will add that it is finely detailed too without being cold or chromium etched. but.... I suspect it to be too analytical and on the dry side, without richness in harmonics.
Vintage Stanton cartridge — extreme lean to one side normal? Leanin'? It’s not leaning, it’s bent. It’s a bent parrot.
Help in deciding which tube preamp to replace my old SFL-2 You've one source? Have you considered using a passive preamp? Basically a box with a stepped attenuator. |
