Reference Full Function Tube Preamplifier Yes, no remote is a bit alarming. Luxman feels that the transparency of its transformer based volume control outweighs lack of remote control....maybe in Japan?...not sure. However, in my small room, my preamplifier and rack are within arms distan...
Reference Full Function Tube Preamplifier My amplifiers are Gamut M250 Monoblocks, single mosfet pair output stage, full bodied solid state. I’m very fortunate to be considering these fine preamplifiers. First run of Luxman CL-1000 is sold out with next availability early March I’m told. ...
Switching to solid state amp? I second the vote for and highly recommend Clayton Audio M300 or S2000.You won’t miss tubes with Clayton, although I do keep a VAC Renaissance 5 preamp in front of the Clayton for even greater sound. All the best!
I’d appreciate opinions from RMAF 2017 Show attendees on the Elac Adante AF61 I truly appreciate all of your valuable opinions! My suspicion is that the Elac AF-61 were the best loudspeakers in their price range or even slightly beyond, as Mr Jones has great experience and has received much acclaim for his fabulous soundin...
I’d appreciate opinions from RMAF 2017 Show attendees on the Elac Adante AF61 Thanks to all for your kind responses and opinions. The consensus seems to be well worth an audition. Many US dealers are still waiting on their demos but I will audition as soon as possible.
I’d appreciate opinions from RMAF 2017 Show attendees on the Elac Adante AF61 Thank you jeoneil for your opinion as well! Apparently it’s turning out similar to show goers in Munich, some loved them and others found them difficult to listen to. Our ears and preferences will always be distinct to our individual tastes and ex...

Magico S5 vs KEF Blade 2 vs TAD Evo One vs YG Kipod II Sig w/pwr bass Hi all:I’ve had the original Blades in a 13 x 14.5 ft room for almost 4 years and absolutely love them! Sound clarity, dynamics and imaging are first rate with no problems with bass overload....perfect bass for my taste. I’ve had many loudspeaker...
Obscure brands worth considering innai don’t claim to know most of Wilson’s secrets but his bridged class A topology, extremely robust power supplies, unique driver boards, and matched top notch bipolar transistors give his solid state amplifiers much of the body and essence of t...
Obscure brands worth considering mitch2You hit the nail on the head with Clayton amplifiers. Wilson built me an S2000 18 months ago and I’ve never been happier with my system.....it simply sounds like music, and I’ve owned many of the most popular brands before this. I drive it ...
Restocking Fees, 30-Day Free Trials Although 85% of audiophiles are genuine and potentially serious buyers, in my experience there is a full 15% that are tire kickers, audiophile nervosa merry-go-rounders, or just individuals unwilling to pay reasonable discount prices. Some are eve...
Need suggestions please! Electrical noise in my system and it's driving me crazy! My home seems to be prone to dirty AC, in the past causing variable and intermittent hum/buzz through my loudspeakers. I have dedicated 20A lines to my listening room and have tried many line conditioners over 20 years. What proved a near revelat...
Voxativ loudspeakers and drivers This is quite correct, soundsrealaudio. Holger Adler, the man in charge at Voxativ, told me their matching subs sound great with the Zeths. As I've never had great success in integrating subwoofers, especially in smaller rooms like mine, it hasn'...
Voxativ loudspeakers and drivers I believe the higher level models use field coil drivers. Yes, Voxativ drivers use whizzer cones which, in the past in other loudspeaker brands, I have not been terribly impressed with. (Lowther, Fostex, etc) However with Voxativ's drivers and wh... |
