Synergistic Red Fuse ... Imagine there were no fuse and the signal path was pure and consistent throughout. Now insert an inferior metal conductor into said path. It’s the ’weakest link in the chain’ argument on a smaller scale. That’s how I see it.All the best,Nonoise
What's going on with the audio market? Some of this lamenting reminds me of Paul Lynde singing "Kids" from "Bye-Bye Birdie". Ours is a hobby from yesteryear which has long ago decided to catch up to the times but there will always be our kind of gear being made. There's really nothing ...
What's going on with the audio market? I didn't know that tRump posted here.
Should I build plinths or screw spikes into cabinet? When guitared posted he reminded me of these: Ingress Engineered Products. With some flagstone or similar product on the floor it could be done. All the best,Nonoise

Synergistic Red Fuse ... Kingfi, before you consider buying you should check out this article onTwo Buck Chuck. I've always been told one of the urban myths about it but it turns out to be something else entirely. All the best,Nonoise
Has there been any inexpensive item that enhanced your system's sound? Ayre Irrational but Efficacious! CD. I just got it today and ran it through my system and though I don't know what the heck it does, it does it very, very well.If you decide to get a copy, go with Elusive Disc as they have the best price and lowes...
Synergistic Red Fuse ... Hmm, Boars Head White Canadian Cheddar aged over 1000 days, some rosemary crackers and a nice red wine for me (whatever gets you there).:-)All the best,Nonoise
Pls share your experience with Zu Soul or Zu in general I've never heard a good show demo with Zu speakers. It was like the music was coming out of a tin can, no matter where I sat, and yet heads were nodding in approval. This was with tube and solid state gear. In the end, to each their own. The rooms...
Audio Research LS 17 SE Power Cord Triode Wire Labs are worth a look. Don't go any smaller than 10 gauge.
Direction of aftermarket fuses (only for believers!) David, "crispser and fresher" just about sums it up. The clarity took a bit of getting used to. It only goes to show that whatever it is that builds up does so very gradually so as to go unnoticed until it's gone. Then a kind of stark reality sets...
Direction of aftermarket fuses (only for believers!) Just wanted to say that after ordering the Ayre Enhancement Test CD I poked around and found an old Stereophile CD and played the test tones and pink noise and boy oh boy did it wake up my system. The CD only had a 1Khz test tone and the rest were...
Direction of aftermarket fuses (only for believers!) Thanks Geoff. Your mention of the XLO Breakin Test CD reminded me that I need to get one of those for regular maintenance. Audio Advisor and Music Direct both have the Ayre Test CD so I think I'll give them a look. All the best,Nonoise
Direction of aftermarket fuses (only for believers!) Thanks Geoff but that does sound daunting. If anyone cares to look at my above post there's a link at the beginning of the first sentence that's partially obscured by the blue background. In it, is a short review on about 11 fuses and how they sou...
Direction of aftermarket fuses (only for believers!) Lots of Fuses reviewed here and some I haven't heard of. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of the ones not discussed here? And, if so, how they compare? All the best,Nonoise |
