Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable?
@ieales,That's some wild swings on the KEF LS50. I just figured that if JBL rates my speaker at 6 ohms, they'd probably venture down lower than a 8 ohm rated speaker would so best to err on the side of caution and go with 14 gauge. Also, I'm rarel...
Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable?
l@iealesWhen I said "every chart I looked at" I was referring to those that recommend cable gauge and length, factored in with amp output. A few of them left out the category for ohms but those that did, it changed the recommendations some. Exampl...
Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable?
@hifiman5 +1I went up a gauge, from 16 to 14, with Tempo Electric speaker wire and there's not a trace of brightness or etch even though the extension in the highs (and lows) increased. What I have is an incredible see through ability along with a...
Best DIY power cable. Why not make?
Soundstage and dynamics are the first victims of a lessor power cord, only because they are the most obvious upon first listen. Clarity, detail retrieval, coherence, etc. all follow suit. It's like something is holding it all back.
Best DIY power cable. Why not make?
The benefits would be patently obvious. My integrated is dead quiet with any power cord I've tried but it's the sound that comes out of my speakers that's different. All the best,Nonoise
It's Simple
@lalitk I think I’m falling back on letting the chips fall where they may. No amount of good intentioned sharing of experience can go without the ground and pound crowd, without the self appointed saviors of those who don’t need saving. They have ...

Speaker Jumpers - Same Brand as Speaker Cables?
Well, I now have the cables with some extra length to make it easy to use both posts of my bi-wireable speakers (JBL 4319). Having to feed both pos and neg at the same time due to the stiffness of a solid core 14 AWG silver wire was a bit of a PIT...
Thinking out of the box here. It might make some defensive
I just spent the last three hours listening to a new set of cables from the same maker and the only difference is a change up from 16 gauge to 14 gauge and what a difference it made. Size matters.I'm done with cables for the long haul. All the best...

Synergestic Black Fuse vs Audio Magic BeesWax
And the snake eats itself.
Thinking out of the box here. It might make some defensive
This is really quite an old point of contention and to some, going bare ended to the speaker binding post is the way to go.This link, connector tests, is one way to look (hear) at it.All the best,Nonoise
Synergestic Black Fuse vs Audio Magic BeesWax
I can't believe that the usual suspects are still hawking their tired and repetitive crap about inferior power supplies and aging fuses that if designed right, would never show signs of aging. Are we all to believe that we should swap out fuses ev...
Timbernation Platform Problems
i've order a rack and speaker stands from Chris and all went well, except for the speaker stands which took a couple of calls to get it done, but the work was finished on all sides and well made. What I do now is to get ahold of a local carpenter t...
