Wall Art
I got some movie pop art done by these fellows and really liked the results. Their frames are heavy duty and they’re packaged really well. Occasionally they have sales like 2 for 1 and such so I just got on their mailing list for specials. These ...
Lock screw for Marantz SA 10 And Ruby sacd player
@jayctoy , great to hear-better safe than sorry. I remember back in the day when a lot of CD players came with the drives locked in place (from below) and one had to release it in order to play. All the best, Nonoise
Why Is Hi Fi Gear So Darn Expensive?
Some time ago, a Swiss watchmaker had about 20 prototypes of his new $400,000 watch and he went to the seaside and boarded one yacht after another. You know the kind, like you'd see at a Formula 1 race, all lined up with revelers and partiers doin...
Lock screw for Marantz SA 10 And Ruby sacd player
My Marantz SA15s2b didn't have lock screws and I don't think yours does either. If you bought them new, did you have to remove anything to play them or was is just plug and play? All the best, Nonoise
New here and saying HI!
Ah....fresh blood. 😄 Maybe you can restore some sanity by keeping things on topic. If not, join the fray. All the best, Nonoise
Enleum AMP23-R buyer beware!
Imagine you’re the owner of a business that’s in the dark concerning supply chain issues with your product and you have hundreds, if not thousands of anxious customers waiting for the solution to all of their audio problems. How much of your time...

That brought back some memories. As soon as I saw Judge Reinhold, "They can bury you in them" came rushing back before it even started. 👍 All the best, Nonoise
Fiber optic USB cable users?
Great to hear that fibre optics has made it's way to USB. Done right, it can sound great. I'm using Supra Zac Toslink from my TV and OPPO Blu Ray player to my Technics SU-G700M2 and it sounds really good and betters the few coax cables I have lyin...
Streaming vs Physical Media
In another thread on cables, I linked an article by the Pink Floyd recording engineers but there's this one statement about digital recordings and making copies: In my opinion there are a lot of misconceptions about digital audio. Disregarding t...

The way to go about it next time around is to do what Richard Dreyfuss did in the movie, Let It Ride. He plays this down on his luck gambler who loves the horses and on one lucky day, he simply can't go wrong.  On one race, he asks dozens of peop...

Everyone knows that Best Buy clerks are the go to for everything you need to know about anything. I remember someone here citing a clerk at a retail store giving the definitive answer to what's going on with inflation. Always a good source for a l...
Dumbest cable question
Speaking of Pink Floyd, their engineers hear a difference in cable direction, right down to the earth cables. The article linked tells of the Astoria, bought by David Gilmore, and how it was transformed into their recording studio. It goes into al...
Streaming vs Physical Media
I don’t want to turn this thread into that same old debate. However, I do believe that mentioning "the inherent noise in streaming" as though that is an incontrovertible fact and that these devices are necessary to correct them does a disservice ...
Streaming vs Physical Media
Uneven playing field. Try a CDT(maybe borrow?) around the same price as your streamer that has i2s outputs, using the same brand and type cable, and then tell us what you hear. That would be a more valid comparison. All the best, Nonoise
