Dynaudio breakin period I used to have the Contour 1.3SE and after a couple of years of using it I tried to run a burn-in CD for a week out of curiosity. Although not big there was a definite improvement in the speed and texture of bass notes. I listen at soft to moderat...
Upgrading wall outlets tried both furu ftd20a and the oyaide r1. both very good and a definite improvement over my former psaudio power port. ended up using r1 - more synergistic with my system, but you can't go wrong with either.
Plinius 9100 vs 9200 I recall reading a post at audioenz forum from the former top techie guy at Plinius who felt the 9100 is actually more musical than its bigger brother. Others feel the two sound very similar.I've owned a 9200 since 2003 when it first came out and ...
Rowland Continuum 500, RCA vs. XLR Thanks. Btw this was JR's response on my question regards difference in C500 between RCA and XLR.."When RCA inputs are chosen, the negative polarity of the signal is connected to the input ground, in our components. Unlike many audio products,ther...
Rowland Continuum 500, RCA vs. XLR Thanks Dcstep, that's helpful. The response I got from JR suggested that XLR will always be quieter, though this did not seem to be a factor in your case. My I/C length is also only 1M.I guess I should do this upgrade only if I really wish to upgr...
What CD for my Plinius Hiato? popless, did you upgrade from a plinius 9x00? i'm on the upgrade path myself and currently using a 9200 and the hiato is on my list of candidates. would be interested in your take of the hiato vs your former integrated especially if plinius.the 92...
Dynaudio C2 with Plinius 9200 I've got the 9200 paired with the C1. The system has a tendency to be a bit soft in the highs. Nothing wrong with it if that is your cup of tea. I've a/bed the 9200 and the M8-SA102 and one of the areas the latter is significantly better is the HF.
Dynaudio Contour S 1.4 vs Special 25? agree with rkerv. i've lived with the 1.3SE for many years and now the C1. the 1.3SE is an incredibly special speaker and i would pick it any time over the s1.4. i think it will also be a good match to naim voicing (and so will the c1). if you can...
Proac+Cary and Accuphase or Esoteric CD Hi. I've owned the DP500 for a year and would not at all describe it as overly warm, nor midrange heavy. A more apt description would be it is by and large neutral and balanced, with a slight touch of warmth. My DP500 replaced a CAL Alpha-Delta sy...
Best outlet I can appreciate why plating could actually result to some coloration, e.g. gold plating seem to impart a certain level of warmth, etc. If neutrality is the goal one would think the unplated route of the power port is preferred. However I also bel...
Integrated Owners: I Need an Excellent Power Cord At your price range I would not decide without trying an RSAD power chord - maybe the Poiema Signature.I compared the Shunyata Anaconda Helix Alpha, Python Helix Alpha and an RSAD Alethias Sig (just above the Poiema Sig). The Lessloss is a real va...
Accuphase CDP a while ago i posted my experiment on my accuphase dp500 with and without a preamp. in the end i preferred the pre route. try to do a search on that thread.
Power Cable Shootout... been there last year - a tedious tedious process. my top picks were the RSAD alethias sig, shunyata anaconda helix alpha and the lessloss PC. if it is in your price range the RSAD PCs I believe are very hard to beat for the money. they are very ne...
Best power solution for Plinius 9200 Try the Lessloss PC. In my 9200 it edged out the Anaconda Helix Alpha. Effect was to increase resolution, extension and balance of the amp. It also gives it a bit more sparkle w/c is welcome since the 9200 has a tendency to be too laid back. The A...
Accuphase CDP Owners - Straight to Power Amp?? After a couple of days listening with the preamp bypassed I did start to notice a little bit of annoying harshness on a couple of CDs (Chicago and Ambrosia collection CDs) - CDs which I normally enjoy when going through the pre. I posted this also... |
