Where do you go after a Dynaudio C1 ?
Thanks to all your comments. The YG Carmel and Kipod has been suggested to me enough times that I might listen to these, fortunately there is a local reseller of this brand.Pani, I understand you came from a Dyn Contour 1.3SE before the ATC. I enj...
Where do you go after a Dynaudio C1 ?
I may have misrepresented my view on the Dynaudio C1. I think it is one heck of a killer reference speaker, within the limits of its design and voicing, and with the right electronics. It does so many types of music so well, that for an all-around...
Where do you go after a Dynaudio C1 ?
I have actually auditioned the new C1 Mark II, though not in my system. While the comment that this new version sounds clearer and more open at low to moderate volume, I doubt it will give me the raw uncolored tonality I now seek. I really want to...
Where do you go after a Dynaudio C1 ?
Peter_s,My current amplification is a Jeff Rowland integrated, and before this a Plinius 9200 integrated. The rowland was a big jump from the Plinius, and the Plinius was no slouch, but in both amps, the relaxed treble character of the C1 remained...
Where do you go after a Dynaudio C1 ?
Hessec,Could you share your thoughts on your experience moving from C1 to V2.. what type of and level of improvement did you achieve ? I listened to the V2 using Lamm amp and Naim source in a dealer system and it was heavenly.Kiwi,I have read the ...
Top big-name monitors current versions .
Hi Rgs92, I would be interested to see what your end up with. I am also looking at 1, 4 and 5 of your list as upgrade to my existing Dynaudio C1. I have heard the Diablo, and it would seem to fit what you consider as important.
Rowlands
2/3 years ago I switched from a Plinius 9200 integrated to Rowland C500. The Plinius is not bad, and I still have it in my bedroom and won't part with it, but the rowland was clearly a much higher sonic performance level. I know it is at a differe...
Plinius Int 9200 or McIntosh 6600 for Dynaudio C1
The Accuphase DP500 that I have may be slightly on the warm side of neutral, but only very slightly. It is also quite resolved. I have other CDPs at my disposal including the well regarded CAL Alpha-Delta (heavily modded and NOS retubed). While th...
nuforce Ref 9 SE V3 vs wyred 4 sound STI 1000
Good thoughts. Ah yes the room acoustics, I have struggled with mine for years (small condo living room concrete all around). I long for the day I live in a place where I can tailor the room acoustics. The C1 helps as it is quite room tolerant unu...
nuforce Ref 9 SE V3 vs wyred 4 sound STI 1000
Thanks. I was hoping to try the new Shunyata Anaconda CX on the C500, mostly out of curiosity. But you may be right about the C500 being not so PC sensitive and best to leave the Lessloss alone and look to spend the money elsewhere. When you get a...
nuforce Ref 9 SE V3 vs wyred 4 sound STI 1000
Hi Inpieces. Did you notice if the C500 is sensitive to PCs? When I upgraded my amp from a Plinius integrated to the C500 I just continued using the "Lessloss" PC that fed the amp without bothering to explore other PCs.
Plinius Int 9200 or McIntosh 6600 for Dynaudio C1
I used to drive my C1 with a Plinius 9200 and Accuphase CDP. It was decent synergy, but not exactly great. The C1 has a touch of darkish, warm sonic character. When paired with a warmish amp like the 9200 may push it to the edge, and you'll end up...
Dynaudio C-1 or Harbeth-7-es-III
I own the C1 and have heard the 7ES and ES2 though on different but similar systems. They are voiced quite differently so it is not a direct compare, but from strictly a fidelity standpoint, I think the C1 performs at least a couple level above th...
Plinius 8200 vs. 9100 -Which one?
I had the 9200 since it was introduced in 2003, sonically my impression (and some others) is that the 9100 is similar in competency. The 9200 was significantly superior to the 8200Mk1 I used to own, so i'm guessing the 9100 will be a solid step up...
