Power Cables on Subwoofers do Matter
@gladmo which power cables did you try before settling on the Zavfino?
Do I need a subwoofer?
I just added a 2nd SVS SB2000 to my system and it's so much more balanced now. I'm running them as a stereo pair right next to my mains. I'm able to run them at a lower power compared to the one single so it doesn't excite the room modes nearly as...
Products you added to your system in 2021 that made most impact to your music enjoyment
Biggest upgrade change this year was upgrading my turntable to a Schiit Sol and went total overkill and put a Benz Micro Zebra L on it. Holy shnikey that thing is good. Like I said, complete overkill but I really wanted to see what the difference ...
Recommend an Entry Level Turntable (And maybe an integrated Amp)
Just another response of someone suggesting random components to look at, but for an affordable phono stage check out the Project Tube Box S2 and replace the tubes with Gold Lions. Definitely a big step up compared to a basic phono in an integrate...
RCA interconnect recommendation
Take a look at Hapa cables. I bought a Breathe Copper and a Quiescence Copper with the upgraded connectors for my system which is quite frugal compared to most here, but holy crap did it make a huge difference in clarity without any harshness. On ...
Tonearm adjustments on the fly
Probably not what you’re looking for but my Schiit Sol has all of those features and punches way above its weight in the sound quality category. Mine was the last run of pure b-spec after all their beta testing improvements and then went through w...
Help wanted spending money and improving my system.
How about RCA cables. Check out Hapa Audio cables, specifically the Quiescence series. Even in my budget setup they made a world of difference in resolution and soundstage.
Budget Phono preAmp
+1 for the Project Tube Box S2. Replace the tubes with a set of Gold Lion from Upscale and you have a real decent setup on your hands. I also bought a linear power supply for it and that bumps it even better.
MC cartridges
I bought my Benz Micro Zebra through Osage Audio. Dude knew his stuff to help me match to my tonearm and found one on manufacturer demo for a solid deal. Definitely a salesman directing my choice to higher $ than I wanted to spend, but his advice ...
Need your help on SPEAKER CABLE...
Are you opposed to DIY? I did a set of 10g wires made up of 4 twisted pairs of 16g in a counter rotating geometry and terminated them with KLE banana plugs and cardas silver solder. Cost was about 200 I believe, and they are fantastic. Another opt...
Help with first cable upgrade.
I had a set full of blue jeans a while back which were great for years, then I had the opportunity to demo a set of considerably stupid money by comparison from Hapa Audio. Holy crap what a difference. Like absolutely 2 different tracks entirely. ...
Any audiophiles into motorcycles
Nice to see people here are fans of two wheels and not just four. I grew up racing motocross so riding bikes on the street is a total no-no. That's not because I don't enjoy it, but because I grew up racing corner to corner as fast as possible and...
Schiit Sol or Rega Planar 6?
If you can get one right now, I would say don't overlook the Sol. I just received my Sol last week. Absolutely amazing. Setup is easy provided you like tinkering (which I do). Really it isn't bad at all to get the basic assembly done, and the adju...
Phono Stage That's not Schiit
I picked up a Project Tube Box S2 (not the DS2) a while back. Multiple gain and loading options available so matching to different carts is easy. Replaced the tubes with some Gold Lions, then bought a linear power supply to top it off. Now with th...
Treble harshness - interconnects as culprits?
I have to agree that there could be a few different things going on with the system, but that the IC really don't help. I have some Blue Jeans cables and I just did a demo with Hapa Breathe C cables, and holy crap was I impressed. Definitely spend...
