Can flexible power cables sound good?
@mapman  I have a Signal Cable on my power amp and honestly can't tell the difference between it and the stock cord.  Maybe I just don't have the hearing for it anymore or maybe my system isn't resolving enough.  Who knows? It looks better than th...

If you want your system to sound better, start smoking pot or ingest some edibles.  It's legal in most states now and works wonders on my system.
Leave tube amps always on?
@ jjss49 The Rogue Model 88 is an older amp. I bought it used. Not long after that, I had a problem and notice the ceramic (?) resistors had cracks in them. Rogue ran me through some checks using a digital ohm meter and at least one was bad. They ...
Leave tube amps always on?
I just bought a  Black Ice Fusion 3502 P Stereo Tube Power Amp (formerly Jolida) to replace my old Rogue Model 88 Magnum that took a dump for like the third time so I didn’t want to invest another dime in that amp. The Black Ice may not be in the ...
USB cables and Galvanic Isolation
@kijanki Thanks for the info.  I think it may have been a tube because I haven't heard it since but am keeping my ears open for any further disturbance.  Mostly my computer audio has sound fine.  I've used three different usb cables.  Belkin Gol...
USB cables and Galvanic Isolation
three_easy_payments Good question.  I have wondering the same thing.  I had some noise/distortion come out of my right speaker with my laptop connected.  I had the suspicion that it was just some tube noise ... maybe?
USB cables and Galvanic Isolation
One reason I brought up the question of galvanic isolation is that I recently watched a video review of the Chord Qutest by an Australian fella on YouTube.  He claimed to have spoken to the Chord owner or developer (no sure which).  Anyhow, it was...
USB cables and Galvanic Isolation
I've made up my mind that I will try a better quality cable.  No harm, no foul.   Except the question is which one?  Any max. length as far as usb cables go?
USB cables and Galvanic Isolation
For those that are wondering I am mostly an analog guy but am interested in building up my digital front with possibly streaming in the future.  I have just been playing cd's and files downloaded on my laptop. My system consists of a Rogue 99 Magnu...
USB cables and Galvanic Isolation
@ djones51I see your point.  Have you tried any audiophile quality usb cables and noticed an appreciable difference?  Or, are you also happy with the run-of-the-mill cable you may be using?
USB cables and Galvanic Isolation
@ djones51Thanks.  I was aware that the Peachtree had galvanic isolation but was wondering about the cable.  So, with galvanic isolation, cable quality (as long as it's certified usb 2.0) is not that critical? Why is cable quality an issue with muc...
A warm DAC?
I'm amazed at the amount of different DAC's are out there for under $1500 that can be bought either new or used.  Makes the buying decision more difficult though.  Almost all mentioned get good reviews.  I think my route would be to first look at ...
A warm DAC?
My system right now consists of a Rogue Audio Model 99 Pre with NOS tubes, McCormack DNA 0.5 Power amp, JVC XL-Z1050 CD Player used as a transport to the Peachtree DAC itx.  I also have an Oppo BD-103 for SACD playback, Technics SL1200 GR turntabl...
