Memory Player vs Dedicated PC-TopUSB Conv and DAC
BigAmpThanks for explaining it with all the intricacies, as you mentioned no one has gone deep into it and how different is RUR to the EAC software,etc...And most importantly when should we guys stop investing in a transport? Has this median reach...
CD Treatments :-
Hooper/Pmrodier and others,Have you tried the audio desk disc cleaner from germany? I saw the contraption working and it was a great piece of machinery. Gave out a super looking shiny surface. No idea of what it did to the sound though. Suggestion...

Best CD player money can buy ? MBL, Nagra, Naim?
Try auditioning the new Spectral launched at CES. I has no SACD playback and is designed solely for Red Book CD and HDCD in mind. Apparently it will list for a cool US$17-18K and was recommended by Robert Harley from TAS too. Most importantly you ...

Managing EMM Fiber Optic cables
Rgs92-At $3K a set, I really wonder how many would have perceived the value!
Managing EMM Fiber Optic cables
I somehow prefer to leave them unwound or large loops. They seem to sound better that way. Give it a week at least. Having tried (didn't like) the stock cables as these take long time to settle in, I have gone through Aural Symphonics initial AT&a...
Would treated CD's or OOP's-hold its value later?
Kana, you are so right with tweaks on poor soinding CD's. We did the same tweak on the Police SACD and it did lift up the level of red book just short of the SACD quality, but did not have much effect on the SACD layer.Tweaks do change the sound, ...
Would treated CD's or OOP's-hold its value later?
Osgorth thanks for your suggestion, but I struggle with time to listen. Let alone having to burn them to a CD-R as also suggested by the dealer of the tweaks. At the moment due to my travels, I am acquiring more CD's than I can listen to. Nice posi...
Would treated CD's or OOP's-hold its value later?
Hi Kana,The reason why I say it is a 5% improvement, as the dealer who used the cutting lathe, nespa pro'ed (30secs) the Cd and then used the Nanaotech fluid on his own Cd copy, of which I have the same, left it with me to audition over a few days...
Would treated CD's or OOP's-hold its value later?
Viridian/Qdrone/Shawn thanks for your insights. I will stick to no modification, as it's just not seem to be worth the extra 5% sound improvement.
Would treated CD's or OOP's-hold its value later?
The lathe that cuts the edge of the CD polymer has been about 3-4 years old as a tweak. It is yet to early to decifer if it will start pitting the aluminum or not. A few of my old CD's drom early 80's had the aluminum right to the centre of the Cd...
Best Acoustic Guitar Players Of All Time?
I too would have added in a living time frame Paco de Lucia, Antonio Forcione and I am surprised no one has mentioned -Martin Taylor- just amazing and available on Linn records. One wonders how there are no over dubs on his playing- as it sounds l...

Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage vs Extrema
Guraneri's do get the mid's so right, and that covers 90% of your enjoyment(like the Zanden digital combo) that driving them with tubes or good s-state in a room size of your specification-vocal female jazz, small chamber/classical music(it sounds...
