Stupid remote or stupid user Nice. But I guess I asked for that. Anyway, I just did a factory reset on the remote and started over again. All’s good.
Arcam SA30 issue with input Check the net standby settings for on or off and try setting the timeout stand by to the max. It may be going into standby mode automatically. So I looked at all the settings again and I’m not sure I see the settings you are talking about. Can ...
Arcam SA30 issue with input I don’t recall seeing that setting in the menu but I will check when I get home tonight. The only standby sort of setting I remember is to shut the amp off after a predetermined period of inactivity, which I was warned was rather buggy and should...
Did I damage my new amp I just may do that as they are local to me. They will just tell me to buy thousands of dollars worth of speaker cable. The more in home testing I’m doing is suggesting that I am crazy and over analysing things. I just finished swapping back my N...
Did I damage my new amp Actually one more question of the group. If something were buggered in the amp from the momentary full volume event, would that now be evident in the headphone section? I assume the headphone section is a dedicated preamp, right? But with my limi...
Did I damage my new amp That's how I feel now. I keep thinking I'm hearing things which perhaps are not there. But not the speakers because that happened to me with my new amp and the old speakers I have since replaced. [Yes, my new MA Gold 300's are here!!] So I worry i...
Aggrivated tinnitus from speakers? Interesting. I too suffer from Tinnitus, or at least some form of damage caused by my work environment. My left ear only. The interesting thing I find is that it seems to be worse when streaming. Listening to vinyl or CD’s does not seem to be as ...
Isolation platforms IsoAcoustic platforms, feet, etc are a nice upgrade in my opinion. Unlike wires and cable where many say they hear no difference [myself included] I find that isolation does work on anything which causes vibration. I draw the line at amps though.
Do dormant cables need "RE" Broken In? If so how long can they sit dormant? I just wrap mine around a dead chicken every few months. Warning: Chickens WERE harmed in this procedure. P.S. Oh crap, sorry. I honestly thought the cooker was a sarcastic response until I just Googled it. Wow.
Best speaker wiring I believe Focal, who manufacture some very fine speakers, has the understanding that it does not make a difference. From the Focal site: "BI-WIRING STEREO LOUDSPEAKERS Bi-wiring has now been phased out on all Focal speakers. Rather than investin...
Are cable “upgrades” just as likely to make your system sound worse? This.... https://www.soundguys.com/cable-myths-reviving-the-coathanger-test-23553/ Now granted, this might be a bit extreme but I do agree with the premise that there is no difference to the human ear. Someone mentioned 100 hours to break in...
Help me choice Audioquest speaker cables I admit, I skipped to the end so I could post this link. https://www.soundguys.com/cable-myths-reviving-the-coathanger-test-23553/ I for one do not buy into the snake oil. I'm not going to drink the Kool-Aid, as it were. My humble opinio...
Did I damage my new amp I have disabled my remote smartphone volume adjustment function Something I don’t have as that would be the solution
Did I damage my new amp The problem was the first night of experimenting with streaming, something I’ve never used, I grabbed my phone the wrong way and it cranked my amp up to maximum volume. A dangerous situation. I just felt it would make more sense to be able to sele...
Did I damage my new amp Thanks Jetter. That I know but what I find strange is the relationship between the phone and the amp with regards to volume settings. Turn up the amp and the phone volume goes up, turn down and the phone goes down. The other way around also. Adju... |
