is super high speed internet available w/satelite? Jaybo, what is the monthly cost of your satellite service? What is the supported speed? How do you handle uploads and what is your speed?
is super high speed internet available w/satelite? Satellite internet service is slower and more expensive than a cable modem.
What Cleaning Machine? I've owned the NG 2.5FI, the VPI 17F and, now, the VPI Typhoon. I've not owned any other brands. In my opinion, any of the VPIs are superior to the NG which I also liked.Records simply get cleaner and are left with a lower noise floor. The best fl...
Low volume bookshelf spkrs that go from 20 to 20k? There is no bookshelf speaker that will provide usable response at 20hz. Also, a room that small won't allow 20hzwaves to properly propagate even if the speaker was up to it.
Video in for my LCD? I reread your message. I take it you ran the audio output of the Bravia to the audio input (labeled "video") of your AR. Is that correct? If so, it should work fine. Check your connections and try another pair of interconnects.
Video in for my LCD? Why would you want to do that?
If I add a power amp to my NAD receiver.... If the receiver has preamp-amp jumpers you can connect a power up. The receiver amplifier would be bypassed. If you don't have preamp out on the receiver there is no easy way to use an external amplifier.
Best 60" flat panel? Unless you have dedicated room and control the light a front projection system is the worst option. A plasma is a better choice in a multi-use room.
upgrade TT or speakers?? I recommend upgrading the speakers. The 2 is significantly better than the 1. The Scout and Michell are much better than the Rega but I think you'll get more of an improvement with addressing the speakers first.
A mistake spending too much on amplification? This has been interesting. I happen to believe that transducers (cartridges and especially speakers) have the most impact on perceived sound. Followed by source, preamp, amp and cables. There again, this is opinion. I'm skeptical of anyone who pre...
A mistake spending too much on amplification? BOA2 says,"The fact is there are significant variations from one component to the next"It is certainly a strongly held opinion by many but is not and, in my opinion, cannot be proven as "fact". I've been in this hobby a very long time and experien...
A mistake spending too much on amplification? Regardless of what reviewers say you are not going to hearnight/day differences between quality components. The real differences will, in most cases, be subtle. Be wary of anyone you tells you that product a "blows away" product b. It's audiophile...
Where buy toslink/optical plugs NOT cables? Radio Shack used to carry them. Not sure now that they've turned to cell phones and satellite tv sales as their primary business. Worth a try.
which technology really has the best picture I have a rear projection 60" LCD and a 42" direct view plasma. Like them both but the plasma has a superior picture. Both are 1080i. I don't have any real interest in 1080P until the networks use it for broadcasting.
How to eliminate noise in IC's? Try another single-ended cable. You should not be getting any noise from a 4.5 meter run. |
